After doing Ross County, Inverness, Forfar (who had the good grace to score 4 on my visit) and Alloa in a week, I am on for my first ever two new grounds in a day. Motherwell v Celtic with a 12 noon kick off, followed by the very short trip to Airdrie to see them take on Brechin at 3pm. There is a slight spanner in the works in that I am supposed to be at Twickenham for the 1/4 finals, so I may have a decision to make if England progress!

Pittsburgh are my team, ( Pirates ), so I`ll be cheering for Cincinnati against the Cubs. $12 for the Reds ticket, and $15 for the Pirates. Decent seats too; up over 1st.

Although I know nothing about it, I would love to go to a baseball game. We were in New York a few years ago for my wifes 50th and The Yankees were playing The Mets, she actually agreed to go, but stupidly I then warned her it could go on for a few hours, and that was the end of that!

I should have mentioned that I have now been to Broadhurst Park the new home of FC United to watch them play Tamworth. Very impressed - it's a good set up and there's room for them to expand 2 of the stands if they need to. 3,500 were there great atmosphere as always. I think they have a fantastic chance to really develop now they have a permanent home. People talk about the ideals of the club and they are great but there's also just a massive untapped market in Manchester of people who would like to go to football regularly but can't because City and United is either too expensive or too much of an effort. Rock up on the day and pay your tenner to watch a reasonable standard of football in good facilities with a rocking atmosphere - I think that will appeal to a lot of people. Right now you have to make quite an effort to get out of the city to Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Stockport etc if you want your football fix and it's normally overpriced.

Usually, a game lasts three hours, but you didn`t have to stay until the end. I watched the Yankees play the Diamondbacks, a couple of years back, and I left at the bottom of the 8th. By the time the game was over, I was out of the Bronx, and most of the way back to Manhattan. I didn`t really care who won, just enjoyed the experience.

My wife hates sport, I was surprised she agreed in the first place. Anyway, it turned out later she didn't realise the game was in The Bronx, she wouldn't have gone anyway, we were staying in the New Yorker right opposite Maddison Square Garden, and she actually thought the game was in there!

Rex, The Bronx is no longer anywhere near as bad as it used to be. Gentrification has established itself, even there. The first time I went to NY, was all the way back in 1984. The whole city was a dark, and violent place then. I took the uptown train to have a look at Yankee Stadium, and managed to get off at the wrong stop. I was wandering round the south Bronx lost. Even then, I didn`t feel particularly threatened, (having grown up in south Glasgow ) the only problem was that nobody spoke English. The only Spanish I knew, was from watching Montoya on The High Chaparral. " Er, donde esta la stadium baseball?" I feel quite nostalgic just thinking about it. Will have to dig out the photos.

She wasn't scared of The Bronx- she's from Lawrence Weston! She just thought we could stroll across the road to MSG to watch it, baseball indoors Like I said, she's from Lawrence Weston.

Is that the Lawrence Weston that`s mentioned in the book of Revelations? It`ll probably be the very last, tiny little part of Britain, to fall to Islamic State. A bit like the Isle of Ely, after the Norman conquest. How come you spend so much time, north of Gretna? And what on Earth persuaded you to chuck your lot in with the green half of the city?

If there was a God, he wouldn`t have given us such awful things as death, and disease, and marriage, and things like that. Never mind, you`ll be walking doon the Copeland Road again, next season.

Nor do I, it was an ever so slightly tongue in cheek answer, but what it come's down to is grandparents being brought up in Glasgow in the 1890s just after Celtic were formed and being told it was 'our' club. I'd be taking my life in my hands walking down Copland Road, I shall be approaching the ground from Broomloan Road!
I don't think there is much doubt they will be back next year, the Queen Of The South result showed they really are head & shoulders above the rest this season. On reflection, it was probably far better for them that they did lose in the play offs last time out.

Agreed. Warburton seems to have got them ticking over nicely. But it`s a toss up between who will sort out their finances first; Greece or Rangers.
