One last sneaky game in 2019/20. Have booked to go to Prague this weekend and will be off to Dukla vs Varnsdorf in the second division. First game since Brazil in March! Let me know what that one's like - I want to go back to Prague for another football weekend. If it beats the experience of watching Bohemians at the Dolicek I will be impressed!

Back from Prague, wrote a piece about it which you can find here. Super fun little trip, will try and get some more Euro trips in I think.

Been watching plenty of non-league lately, Hitchin's Top Field was a highlight. Looking at hopefully going to Poland in a couple of weeks for some top flight football. That's very much up in the air though, Germany also a possibility. It's difficult trying to find trips at the moment!

Wooden terracing. Outstanding.

I think it varies from region to region how many fans are allowed in? Union had 4,300 against Augsberg first game, but tickets are as rare as rocking horse sh*t when they have 22,000 capacity. What games are you off to? Are you just gambling on getting tickets? Or heading lower down the leagues? Union Berlin / Mainz is on 7:30 tonight in the (socially distanced) pub. Happy Days. Though I am as concerned about Union dealings in the summer as I am about Ben Garner... Eisern Union & UTG.

Fri - Victoria Hamburg vs Hamburg Eimsbütteler, Oberliga Hamburg Sat - VfB Lübeck vs Dynamo Dresden, Liga 3 Sun - Altona 93 vs Heider SV, Regionalliga Nord Ost
VfB Lübeck will potentially be the most difficult but, they do have tickets available for this weekends game! If it's a no go then I'll just head to a local game around Hamburg. Changed my flights back so I'll just stay in Hamburg now as well.

Bumped into some Altona fans at a Sutton / Bristol Rovers pre-season friendly. They'd just played Dulwich Hamlet and had some time to kill. It was just before our conference season. Finished 1-1, we had an ex-bcfc1982 striker on trial, and he was pants. I can remember that day perfectly well. If asked by the missus to go to the shop to pick up 3 things, I will invariably come back with 2. It is strange what the brain/memory can process and what it can't. Enjoy Germany.

I think Chewy may well have been at that game I do remember a rather hirsute gentleman taking down a big Rovers banner after the game near the Altona fans... so I think you could be right. If only my tiny brain could remember the important stuff...

VfB Lübeck is off due to having to head to the ticket office a couple of days beforehand, however I've got tickets sorted for Hansa Rostock against 1860 Munich which, should be a lot of fun!

I went to the pub to watch Schalke 04 / Union Berlin. Which then transpired to be an almost perfect copy & paste of Gas / Burton. Union were well on top, spurned a number of chances, went 1-0 up in the 55th minute, only to concede a soft goal in the 69th from a corner delivered to the near post. As opposed to: Rovers were well on top, spurned a number of chances, went 1-0 in the 52nd minute, only to concede a soft goal in the 79th from a corner delivered to the near post. Spooky.

Excellent write up. Bratwurst and alcohol free beer? What is the world coming to... Yes - I enjoyed that. I have German football weekends written on my 'let's live a bit when all this nonsense is over' to do list. Looks very appealing even in current climate.

Good man. I'm going to need more of these in the "f*ck off Rovers til Barton and Wael are gone" period.
