OK interesting - that makes sense. I've always wondered why it looks quite sparse. Most grounds are bloody huge as well, the building of Juventus's new home has seen clubs look towards reducing capacity and making the fan experience better. Oh, and building more corporate facilities. Yes, the new Juve ground seems to be just like any other modern ground really. I know it replaced the incredibly unpopular Delle Alpi but it doesn't look very interesting ort distinctive on TV. I wonder if the the new Milan ground will go the same way.

San Siro going is a travesty, I'm on 357 grounds now and it's my favourite by a long way. That said, I completely understand it, it's utterly daft. I really think any groundhopper worth their salt should make it a priority to go. Cheap flights and tickets galore (just sorted my parents with flights for £20 to Milan and tickets for £18 for January).

I will reach the grand old age of 55 this month , the magic number at which you can take out a chunk of your pension- a trip to Fiorentina is on the cards for me!

Copa Libertadores group stage fixtures confirmed, looks like there's potential for;
10/03 Boca vs TBC 11/03 River vs Binacional 18/03 Racing vs Nacionale
Over the weekend we'll be looking for games in either BA or Montevideo.

I may have to add Argentine to my pension pot blow out! I had a change of plan yesterday and chose Linlithgow Rose v Blackburn United instead of ticking Airdrie off, 4-1 home win in a lovely little ground, I chose well

Nice couple ticked off between Christmas and new years, first Dumbarton's The Rock. A pretty boring ground on the banks of the Clyde at the foot of Dumbarton Rock. Crap game, ended 1-1 with Stranraer both goals in the last ten minutes. On the Sunday, it was off to Edinburgh and Hearts vs Aberdeen. Again, not the best game but it was nice to see Michael Smith. Ended 1-1, and I did like Tynecastle. Should be booking Argentina this week, oh and I'm sneaking Valencia in next month.

Dumbarton has a spectacular backdrop but is a desperately dull ground, there was talk of them moving again.

Flights are now booked, 5th to the 20th of March. We've also booked Rio on the 12th and 13th to do the Maracanã. Waiting for a confirmation of league fixtures, but hoping to do Buenos Aires Big Five (Boca, River, Racing, San Lorenzo & Independiente), Flamengo and Nacional or Peñarol. Plenty of other teams in BA as well that I'm sure will be ticked off.
Still have Valencia vs Celta Vigo, Boston United vs York City and Newcastle United vs Burnley before then!

24 hours in Valencia was great, 28 degrees, some beers were consumed, lots of calamari and in the Mestalla my now, new favourite ground. I implore people to go before we lose it, rumours of work resuming on the New Mestalla this year...

Union is great fun. Also going to Accrington and have a little solo trip to Oslo planned in May.

But in the overall scheme of things, that is totally irrelevant.

I had planned to tick off Leatherhead last Tuesday whilst working in Guildford. I will also be missing Portsmouth v Rovers and a trip to Celtic Park to see them secure 9 in a row!
