I am up in the West Midlands for a couple of days and will be ticking off Leamington FC when they host Worcester City tomorrow night. Not quite as glamorous as a trip to the Netherlands Really boring ground Leamington, right out of town as well. Finally managed to tick it at the third time of asking in the Playoffs at the end of last season after going to a late postponement and an abandonment. It didn't look great when I checked it out, but it is close to the hotel, so it's an easy one to do.

Harlow Town 1 Leyton Orient 6. Pretty decent attendance of 1,274. Horrible plastic pitch. 1 1/2 away from the town centre. No pubs in the area (that I know of). Bit soul-less. Harlow tired 2nd half and Orient took control against pretty limited opposition. O's best players were the trialists... understandable as they still have a massive re-building job to do.

Newly promoted Leamington 3 newly relegated Worcester 1. Worcester were 1 up with 12 minutes to go. Lee Hughes (yes that one) played the first half for Worcester.

Back from Holland, had a fantastic if tiring week. Spent Monday evening in Amsterdam then headed down to The Hague on Tuesday. Looked around the city, popped in a few museums and pubs before heading to ADO Den Haag vs MVV Maastricht. Ended up going in the away end after bumping into some MMV supporters. Game finished 1-0 to Den Haag (a division above MMV), pretty poor game and ground tbh... Wednesday I headed to Utrecht to meet my Scotland supporting pal for England - Scotland. Big fan of Utrecht as a city, it's very pretty and doesn't have the morons Amsterdam does. Anyway, a lovely ground even if it was a bit empty with only 5,000 people in it. The game was great as an Englishman with England winning 6-0 but not that exciting... Thursday and a trip on the train again to Rotterdam, had a lovely walk around the old harbour taking in the Maritime Museum as well. Then did the three mile walk to the ground making sure we tried a few beers and pizza along the way. The hosts Netherlands were playing Denmark. Holland won 1-0, they were very fortunate and on another day the Danes could have won. A good atmosphere in a sold out Sparta Stadion with a lovely wee pavilion to the right of us... Friday saw another train ride to Deventer, probably my favourite city we visited mainly due to the weather and pints by the river. After a couple of hours of drinking we head for the main square for more pints and finally the ground, the home of Go Ahead Eagles. Sweden were facing Russia and the Scandinavians eased to a 2-0 win. We caught the sun a little... Finally on Saturday we go to our last game with our furthest journey to Doetinchem in the East. We weren't expecting a big crowd for Iceland - Switzerland so were surprised (after getting off the train a stop early and walking for three miles) to be greeted by 3,500 Icelandic fans in the fanzone. They provided the best atmosphere of the week and backed their team to the end of a 2-1 defeat. The ground belonging to De Graafschap was probably the most boring of the trip but the atmosphere made up for it...

Booked up to go to Edinburgh in October to watch Hearts at Murrayfield, another tick. Really hoping that Chelsea will move to Twickenham when they redevelop the Bridge. Also heading to Rhodes in September, hopeful of a game there, if not looking at flights to Athens for AEK or Olympiakos.

Brisbane Road. Visiting Leyton does not have the prestige of a trip to the Womens Euros. First ever home home for Orient in non-league (well for over 100 years). O's 3 Solihull Moors 1. Chaotic ticketing, long queues. New owners have a lot of work to do. Solihull were really very poor.

I have been there a few times for rugby and have seen Celtic play a European game there so I have already ticked it off for football. I really like the place and even easier to get to now the tram stop is there. Which game are you going to?

As much as I dislike Hearts, I always liked Tynecastle. I know it's progress and all that but I wish they weren't knocking down the old stand. I'm sure you already know, but if you fancied a look at Tynecastle it is quite close to Murrayfield.

Oh I snuck in last time I was up there, used my broken leg as an excuse.
