A few years ago both Wes and myself recommended Charlie Austin to R,he signed for Swindon withour Rovers even looking at him,and today i hear that another striker both Wes,Fordingbridge qaned myseklf have recommended to the club,Matt Patterson of Gosport Borough has signed for Swindon, without Rovers bothering to look.I wonder if Swindon will take Justin Bennett from under our noses from Gosport,he has only scored 25 goals this season so not worth looking at.I despair, perhaps in future we should just by pass Rovers and tell Swindon instead. It seems the club do not want peoples recommendations,if that is the case why not come out and tell us so we can stop wasting our time

Danny Greenslade has been attracting attention Truro City but nobody at Rovers has been to watch or ask for a progress report.

Not that I really see the logic in it, but hasn't Wes openly stated he passes info to other clubs anyway??

Is it arrogance or Ignorance ?
Quite incredible that nobody from the club can be bothered allegedly to go and look ...
Did I read a while back Rovers were looking for 'Unpaid' Scouts to recommend this very same type of player?

Such a shame that he was hounded off of the Forum. Sorry Brizzle, that really isn't true. I like many others on here enquired from him how he came to know so much about non league players and what he based his opinions on. Wes became very defensive when others who had a different opinion to his expressed theirs. We all know Wes was very knowledgeable about certain players but most of it was based on either written reports or social media, very little was based on actually seeing the players themselves because as Wes admitted he wasn't well enough to. I like many others on here liked Wes's reports on players but they weren't exclusive and Wes eventually decided not to share his information on here. This isn't the first time Wes has done that and did similarly on the other forums too. When he's ready he'll come back but he wasn't hounded off here and at the end of the day most of us on here are adults so lets behave with one another in that way and not run off crying foul when if we express an opinion get challenged about it. I hope Wes comes back but he's not the only one with opinions about lower league footballers.

I wasn't referring to Wes' contributions on the non-league football front, but to his contributions to the Current Affairs Forum. I didn't particularly enjoy or agree with his posts on that section, but I feel that when the Current Affairs section was closed that this signalled the beginning of the end for him on here. I think that it's highly likely that Wes didn't enjoy seeing his posts ridiculed (on a subject that I know that he holds dear), and I've always believed that this is the reason that he stopped posting on here. All being well, we may see him posting again when we return to the Football League in May.

I' ve seen that Bennet a few times at Mangoes and at Yate. I think hes been around the south coast clubs and didn't make it. Good on his day mind, liked to beat everybody before scoring.

Spouting your poisonous drivel again. You slag Rovers off to the hilt, slag Darrel Clarke and his signings off to the hilt and wonder why neither want your biased help. just disappear and leave them to it. Darrel is doing a brilliant job as it is by the looks of it. Toodle pip.

I think the starting of (from memory) at least two vindictive threads about one individual poster on the main page of the forum can probably be considered to be hounding off. I've never met the guy and had no opinion on his footballing experience but there was a build up and knock down phase of Wes and the knock down phase lasted much longer - to say that he was merely challenged on his footballing knowledge and not his personal attributes is at best revisionist.

You're right Brizzle, I did misunderstand your post, I didn't really participate in the Current Affairs section so wouldn't be aware of the Twilightism that went on there

Well I never challenged his personal attributes but to me he just seemed to take umbrage that someone else had a different opinion to his but as Brizzle said there was a lot going on in the closed Current Affairs section of the forum that probably did challenge his personal attributes/beliefs.
