Never in a million years was there only 900 Rovers fans there! Embarrasing from them to even suggest it. If there was 1600 in the ground, then 1200 rovers is more like it! Got to agree with that. Sounds like a VAT beating attendance announcement. bit like rovers at twerton then

costalgas is surely...surely a wind up merchant. That must be parody. Yea the clown was on another thread saying GJ should be instated as manager instead of Clarke. Worth ignoring. I don't think he/she/it goes because theres nothing of any substance to recognise they were there. S*Head alert..

An away win is very important but remember we were playing probably the worst side in the League who didnt muster a shot on target. We are Bristol Rovers and today shows yet again how far we have fallen and how very very easily so many of you are so easily satisfied. Personally I am very disappointed with just 2 goals. How many would Barnet have scored I wonder. We should have a team capable of tearing apart teams like Nuneaton and the fact we clearly dont really worries me. Today was a chance to reduce the goal difference by scoring several more than just two. Yes im happy with three points after the disappointment of the last game but we are way behind where we could and should be. Demand more ! I couldn't disagree more. Anyone who thinks that we will just turn up and turn teams over in this league are living in a dream world. We should take the important 3 points and move on. Clarke seems to have sorted out the players mentality, and although I know your not his biggest fan, you really should eat some humble pie and give the man some respect. Looking at a few of your previous posts, your either the most negative Rovers fan on here, or not a Rovers fan at all? Its a stooge, ignore Coastalgas

Today for the many that didn't brave the cold and fog, the fewer that did represented your club with the utmost respect.
No longer do we just turn up and expect to win. That mentality wasn't there today, yet we had encouragement, applause and optimism from the sidelines in abundance.
Admittedly, our performance helped the cause, but as much as I and we turned up, so did the team.
We were completely dominant in every place on the field. Our midfield steamrollered theirs to the point of embarrassment, all through hard work and endurance. Our fitness showed and as a team we created triangles in the last third so often missed and not seen at home. At times it felt like a training game.
Credit to Nuneaton whom hosted a very one sided match with dignity and retort, they never gave up, they never complained or play acted ot wasted time, or even let their heads down. Fair play. Yes they were beaten, but they held grace and respect and I wish the game was played with more of it as I'm old fashioned like that.
A great day all round. No bookings, no injuries, no goals conceded, no trouble, no ill feeling. Just cold, fog, a five quid burger (wtf?), bit of singing, a gas win and loads of happy GasHeads. Away days, can't beat them..

Christ that was FREEZING. Couldn't feel my toes by the end - sure the metal terracing didn't help!
Great set of results, professional performance, closing in on Barnet. Really think we need to can the 'we can't catch Barnet' posts for a while until a few more games have gone.
Now for all the fun and games of the transfer window. I see the people with 'contacts' are already starting to flood the forum with their inside knowledge. I shall of course be ignoring them all.

Picture from Lincoln v Barnet today. Yes, both teams are in the pic Plenty of Barnet fans around the net saying they had tired legs/injuries and haven't been firing on all cylinders for a while. Three subs at half time smacks of panic from Allen and they paid for it with an injury and more goals shipped. Catchable

Unless your budget is exceptional - as in at least 25% bigger than anybody else in your division - you generally get players to the standard of the division you are in, as players are reluctant to drop a division. It is not the fault of the current players and management that we are a conference club. What evidence do you have that football works in the way you are proposing? Can you name any club that has been relegated, and subsequently every single game went according to the relative sizes of club, not only in result but also in number of goals scored? Football ain't like that, its not played out on a computer according to some mathematical logic, its human, which is one of the reasons I love it.

So using your logic to gauge how far we have fallen by how many goals barnet would have scored. How would we do at Lincoln away after today??? We would have lost 6 maybe 7-1 as again using your logic we are not as good BUT wait didn't we win 3-2 at Lincoln?? We have just taken 13 from 15 points from a tough set of x mas fixtures, of which it included a 4-0 win against 3rd in the league. I will demand more, I will demand more from unrealistic supporters that need educating on achieveable aims and targets. Would you say anyone who demands continuous improvement needs re-educating ? When what they are saying is at odds with the evidence of the past, yes.

Nuneaton were incredibly defensive we did what had to do: clean sheet, 3 points and reduced the points gap between us and Barnet. Clearly none of us want to be in the conference but the majority of us have embraced it support DC and the team and we find ourselves in a very good position with a great chance of getting back in the first attempt and coming of the back of 13 points out of a possible 15 over Christmas. Regardless of being in the conference the team are doing really well support them or crawl back under your rock. As far as the game goes I thought Monkhouse had a brilliant game, linked up very well with browner but Blissetts miss? Good grief UTG

Although Bliss missed another couple of sitters there he is getting himself in some great positions along the 6 yard box.Get a winger in who can get to the byline regularly and I think he will score plenty for us.Still rather green but loads of potential and so a very good signing I think.Great header for the goal.

I've managed to confuse myself here, is Bliss ours permanently or is he just a loan signing?

Bliss was initally a loan signing but has now signed a full contract now that the transfer window has opened.

I realise that it's very early days in ever-so-many ways, but it wouldn't surprise me if he turned out to be a real gem of a signing, and we do have a history of signing good young forwards don't we? Oh, and a very pleasant personality to go with it. Win win, eh?

I've managed to confuse myself here, is Bliss ours permanently or is he just a loan signing? It cost BRFC in excess of £50,000 to get him here on a permanent deal . . . allegedly.

Definitely Mansell's goal then. Not sure how the PA got that wrong!
I'd forgotten their keeper changed his socks at halftime. Strange decision.
