Apart from Ashton gate my first away game was millwall away may 1975 last game of the season we sent them down after Jim Sadie saved a penalty with about 10 minutes think we draw 1-1 having since been to nearly every ground in England since several abroad and a veteran of many an old firm game I can honestly say it is the most afraid I have ever been at a football match anyone who was there that day knows what I mean went on a supporters club coach but had to walk back to Paddington as they destroyed our coach during thr game the walk ( run ) along the old Kent road was an experience I will take to my grave Get yerself up to Hampden for the Old Firm game in Feb- I'm looking forward to that one! Bloody part time glory hunter. Will you be able to take the 'GasGers' flag with you?

Southampton FA cup 4th Round 24.01.1981. Lost 3-1. Remember being packed in at the Dell like sardines. Now I know I'm getting on a bit but I thought Peter Shilton was playing for the Saints along with Kevin Keegan but Wiki states Shilton didn't move there until 82. So if it wasn't him in goal can any statto's out there confirm who was in goal for the Saints that day. There were 4000 gas there, but like me who went by train you seem to be one of the 1000 crushed in the cage in the corner. I spent most of the game, with my feet barely touching the floor and gasping for breath

First away game at Bournemouth with my Parents and Grandparents, Alfie Biggs was playing and we drew 1-1, I remember we had a stand seat and you could rent a cushion for thruppence but even back then most of them ended up pitch side at the end of the game. On the way home the coach broke down and didn't get back until early in the morning

Walsall away on a coach in 1982. I think Rovers offered free transport? Lost 5-0. Everyone on the coach was moaning except a 9 years old boy grinning ear to ear after his first away day.

Boxing Day 1966, away to Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road, and travelled there on the Supporters Club coaches. Rovers won 2-0, with Alfie Biggs and Dickie Plumb scoring the goals. My most vivd memory of the game was the state of the pitch, the only grass seemed to be around the corner flags, everything else seemed to be a mud heap.
I've seen Rovers playing away from home on many occasions now, but this is one of the rare victories that I saw during this era.
