Something someone said in the Nuneaton away thread inspired this one, so what was your first ever away game?!
Mine was 2001, away to Cheltenham on a depressing November Tues night game! I went with a mate of mine, stood in the freezing cold, tons of Gasheads present, Rovers were abysmal and the game never got going in a shocking 0-0 draw. Only highlight was Kevin Gall clipping the bar!
Thankfully I've experienced some fairly decent away day trips since then, because this one really was the pits!

Most of my early away days were at Ashton, but more memorably for a kid then went to Villa, Wolves lost 1.0, again Wolves lost heavily in the League Cup, really started going more regularly in 1973/4 and then in the 2nd Division!

Yes 0-0, we lost the replay 3-1

Ashton Gate, January 96, when Beadle was still a good guy.

down at the gate, must have been 74/75, dad took me in the bloody east end not that i could see sweet fa. Could just about see the away end and must have been the only one smiling when rovers scored twice, sadly if i remember we also let two in but i left happy, just glad i never had my scarf on.

West Brom on a night match in 1974. 2-0 down at half time, goals from Frankie Prince and Alan Warboys (I think) made it 2-2.

I'm sure that City away game in 74/75 was my second away game- but it was definitely 1-1. Brucey put us 1 up after about 3 minutes but they equalised about 15 minutes later.

Excluding Wembley 95, I'm pretty sure mine was a 2-2 draw with Exeter in the cup around 98 or 99. Can't remember much of it other than there being a good following. Won the replay 5-0 and went on to make the last 16.

Torquay United 1968/69 season. Supports Club coach down the A38 as the M5 hadn't been built!

Southampton FA cup 4th Round 24.01.1981. Lost 3-1. Remember being packed in at the Dell like sardines. Now I know I'm getting on a bit but I thought Peter Shilton was playing for the Saints along with Kevin Keegan but Wiki states Shilton didn't move there until 82. So if it wasn't him in goal can any statto's out there confirm who was in goal for the Saints that day.

Apart from Ashton gate. FA cup 1970 away to Fulham in a 2-1 win, with Carl Gilbert scoring twice as a six year old.

There were 4000 gas there, but like me who went by train you seem to be one of the 1000 crushed in the cage in the corner.

Carl was decent but I can't remember him scoring once yet alone twice when he was six. I recall Carl Gilbert coming to Eastville after he had transferred to Rotherham. He had an open goal in front of the Muller Road end and as he shot and he turned away towards the South Stand with his arms in the air celebrating what he thought was a certain goal Dick Shepherd had managed to get back to save it. He looked a right plonker! My first away game? Probably Plymouth or Villa in the early 70s (excluding Ashton Gate)

City 0-0 1999, I can't remember much of it except my mother saying I would never be allowed to go to another one.

Apart from Ashton Gate mine was away at Swindon, also in 96. Marcus Stewart put us 1-0 up early on but we lost to two late goals, one by Shaun Taylor.
First proper long distance away trip was Blackpool in 96/97. I think we won 3-2 and Steve Parmenter scored.
