"if funds were provided" as anybody asked TW to work that out yet or will he start thinking about that during the last week of January??

In post-match Radio Bristol interview, Marcus Stewart very bullish about getting 2 or 3 players in. Not squad players, but to go directly into the team. !! That's not the interpretation I took on his comments.
He was asked about players coming in and he said he'd like 2/3, not that he was expecting that. He also said "if the funds were provided"
We'll have to wait for the interview to get uploaded to see what he actually said (whilst hoping that Radio Bristol / BRFC don't edit the crucial section)! To clarify my interpretation, I didn't say that MS said he "expected" 2 or 3 players to come in. I said he was very "bullish". In other words he was enthusiastic about getting some new faces that would be at least as good as the current squad, and sounded as though that's what he wanted. Maybe, as Assistant Manager, he felt he could afford to be a little more effusive than DC (with whom the buck stops). Maybe DC will tell him to manage our expectations better!

The Post's take was: ... Stewart, meanwhile, added that he hoped Rovers would be strengthening the squad during the month of January once the window opens on Saturday.
“We have a month to do some business and you would like to think that we will get the one or two players that we need to be in good shape for that final promotion push.”

OK, so that sounds like the management team are intent on doing business and presumably have positions in mind with names to suit.
So it's halfway encouraging anyway. Let's see if the board back them and then who they're after

Your interpretation was similar to mine. He also said that if we were going to be serious about getting promotion those 2 or 3 players should improve upon what we already have and have the ability to come straight into the first team.

Let's see if the board back them and then who they're after When the interviewer suggested they would start considering who they were after following Sunday's game Stewart clearly said that he and Darrell had already been discussing those options over several weeks so they already know who they would like to bring in. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens and if enough money is available to bring in the players they've identified.

Unless the players can now obtain better offers elsewhere (unlikely at lower Div 2/Conference level?) then surely the players identified are already within the present budget.

Although I like Trotman and he's been a revelation slotting in with with ease, I wonder if there will be a reluctance in offering him a long term contract based on his intermittent injury record?

So rumour has it, Trotman's case cleo won't be helped by another spell on the sidelines.

If I was Chairman...........I would be brave now and pay off Mr D C and get Gary Johnson in next week. Give him the funds to bring in at least 4 players and we would be as quaranteed as we ever could be of getting promotion. Also we would have a good team for div 2 next year. Keep DC and we will keep struggling with players who simply are not good enough and with a manager who simply is unable to bring in the quality players we need. Even if we did somehow get up with DC this squad is nowhere near good enough to do anything other than struggle in league 2. Sorry rose tinters if the truth hurts. UTG.

Gary Johnson would not guarantee promotion as nobody would. DC has as good a chance of getting it as the players are definitely playing for him. it really depends on who he brings in but personally I would be going for a Winger,Targetman cover, creative midfielder and goalscorer. Trouble is for the quality we need it won't come cheaply. We will just have to wait and see but resorting to playing Sinclair on the wing too often is going to make promotion very difficult.

Well call me a rose tinter but either this is a Ted or somebody who has had a little to much to drink over the festival season. Clarke deserves his chance, whether it be this or next season, and confident that he's doing the best with the money available. UTG Ps I cannot get this love in with Gary Johnson - think he is in the has been category now.

We are 1st in form chart, 2nd in league, and this clown says all change.....no offence.....!!!......no wonder you're coastal, sometimes you wanna tsunami. GJ maybe good for certain clubs, but I cant think of a more contemporary candidate to split GasHeads if he is appointed anywhere near us..

All this struggling in 2nd place this season is a real issue. Only one team struggling worse than us and that's Barnet. Hope we don't get as bad as them.

Fact Hunt has a horrible record in recent years bar the odd purple patch.
2010 - Sacked by The s**t. 2011 - Sacked by Peterborough after less than a year. 2011 - Sacked by Northampton after nearly relegating them. 2013 - Yeovil promoted. 2014 - Yeovil relegated. 2015 - Yeovil bottom of League 1.
He's not the messiah, he's a disgusting, repugnant, cockney, gout sufferer.
