What a night of entertainment for the fans. This is what its all about. Goals and excitement. Wish I was well enough to be there but am booked for Torquay. Looks like a good crowd on Boxing Day away.

Top stuff - sort of game that can really spark something. 1-0 down against a decent side that's getting the better of you but you have the guts to dig in and the nous to change tactical approach. Then sucker punch to go 2-1 down which might have sunk some Rovers sides of the last few years but these guys fought back brilliantly. Superb from Sinclair - really enjoyable to watch. Really good game in general.
I wonder if it's important as well from the point of view of players reactions to the crowd - that they see that if they dig in, put in a shift they'll get a positive reaction. I felt tonight like Bath - with the crowd a bit on the players back or at least not very enthusiastic and the players playing a bit scared but there was a real response to how we came out 2nd half and they didn't get on the players back at 2-1 down in the same way because it was clear that was bit harsh on balance of play. I feel that kind of thing matters with a relatively young side which has struggled at times to connect with the fans. So hopefully - onwards and upwards and a proper momentum builder.
Only Eeyorish comment would be that all 3 goals came from midfielders and I don't our strikers had one decent effort on goal so fundamental issue might still be there but ho-hum it was a fantastic win and Gateshead will be gutted to score 2 against us (a team that struggles scoring), dominate large tracks of the game and not walk away with even a point so that could hurt their morale heading into Christmas. We should be flying though after that - best type of result, a battling come from behind win!

Bringing Ollie Clarke on helped us win the battle in midfield. Darrell Clarke has just suggested the change was at least in part tactical. Credit to him if it was.The first 30 minutes were as bad as I've ever seen us play but we were a lot better in the second half and I think we just about deserved the win in the end.
