he said proceeds will go to charity so I imagine he will/should still do it... no better charity than Bristol Rovers - perhaps he will donate to the club? Most charities are run far better than BRFC.

They have to be, there are some pretty serious implications for the poor administration of a charity. Sadly no such recourse for football fans. Guide Dogs is a charity - you could say Rovers fans are treated worse than dogs.

It's a huge shame I'll only remember Ward as the manager of possibly the worst Rovers side I have seen, in that last fateful 4 months in charge! Even worse than the scraped together side that included Kalala, Rene Howe etc...! Christ I'd even put last seasons mob down there with the Kevin Street, Rob Quinn, Danny Boxall disaster gang!
Just, awful.

When football managers are ever tempted to go back to a previous club they should give our John a ring.
His second spell has forever tarnished his legacy of a pretty successful first attempt.

Drop the endless Rovers witch hunt. Ward, Buckle, Hughes, Lines, Campbell, Ollie, Harrison, Richards, McGhee, Penney, Phillips, Hoskins, O'Toole, this list is vast. Why are we always looking for someone to burn? The answer to your initial query is "It's completely irrelevant". You don't blame the plasterer when your house crumbles through it's foundations. Witch hunt? I only asked of anyone has heard anything from John Ward post our relegation! For the record I think JW is an honourable man who did a great job in his first stint with us (and the first 6 months of his second stint). I don't think I have critisized any of the people you mention - check my posts on the old & new forum. I criticize and admit to being frustrated with our last two alleged "strikers" - Matty Harrold and Matty Taylor - maybe we should just stear clear of the Matty's. I guess all the names you mention are a direct result of the Board appointing the 'wrong' manager and giving him money to appoint the 'wrong' players on the 'wrong' contracts. So ultimately it is down to the Board. To extend your metaphor - I guess I am blaming the people who laid the crumbling foundations for the Clubs 'business model' 4-5 years ago. How ironic it would be if the Chairman of the Board was actually originally involved in the construction industry. You spoke with forked tongue. It was clear to all from the equivalence of the OP.

No doubt it will come out in the Geoff Dunford book in due course Will the book actually be published now he's had his loan paid back by the club?? Perhaps GD learnt a trick or two from Stu Campbell! We don't know if his loan was paid back, it is all just speculation

JW would have disproved the theory that you should never come back if he had stepped aside at the end of the first season, as we are told he wanted to. He stabilised the team, set us off on a great run that nearly ended at the playoffs, and was a big success for that period. If he had then moved upstairs to be DoF, I'm sure we wouldn't be in the Conference now. Perhaps we would be playing BCFC in the same league.
