Apologies if this has already been covered... I was thinking about the "review". Apparently a crack team of management consultants concluding after months of in depth investigation that our relegation was "all kind of John Ward's fault and we are actually a remarkably well run and well respected football club". So John Ward was hung out to dry. My understanding was that he was on a rolling yearly contract that didn't roll after our relegation. So given he was the scapegoat for all the ills of the football club - why hasn't he come out and given his side of the story? Did we put a gagging order on him? If so - how much did it cost? Can't believe that JW would be happy to carry the can for everything that has gone wrong over the last couple of years. Unless we paid him off - with money we don't have.

No matter what people say, no one on here will know about any gagging order in place, the cost of it and if we have paid him off.

Or maybe he knows he was to blame that's why he has been so quiet since he got sacked!

We have probably got a running tab with whoever deals with gagging orders.

Drop what? I may have missed John Ward defending himself. I find it very odd he has not had the chance to give his side of the story. That's all. Like I said - apologies if this has already been covered.

Or maybe he's a gentleman. Some people can deal with abuse without having to respond to it

Or maybe as a dignified gentleman who was sacked having gone through an awful time with his seriously ill wife he choose not to disclose to a group of deluded supporters who blame all 8 managers in 4 years it's always the managers fault when it all goes wrong.

Like I said - apologies if this has already been covered. Drop the endless Rovers witch hunt. Ward, Buckle, Hughes, Lines, Campbell, Ollie, Harrison, Richards, McGhee, Penney, Phillips, Hoskins, O'Toole, this list is vast. Why are we always looking for someone to burn? The answer to your initial query is "It's completely irrelevant". You don't blame the plasterer when your house crumbles through it's foundations.

I had to laugh though as number 9 wanted a white loaf and I gave him brown. I saw Paul ince once at the mem and he said hello. It was my idea to bring Lennie to the club! I not anyone else I was responsible for the promotion in 06 as it was me yes ME that appointed Ron Craig to be chairman. Oh and it was all yes all john wards fault. Available at all crap book stores!

I only asked of anyone has heard anything from John Ward post our relegation! For the record I think JW is an honourable man who did a great job in his first stint with us (and the first 6 months of his second stint). I don't think I have critisized any of the people you mention - check my posts on the old & new forum. I criticize and admit to being frustrated with our last two alleged "strikers" - Matty Harrold and Matty Taylor - maybe we should just stear clear of the Matty's. I guess all the names you mention are a direct result of the Board appointing the 'wrong' manager and giving him money to appoint the 'wrong' players on the 'wrong' contracts. So ultimately it is down to the Board. To extend your metaphor - I guess I am blaming the people who laid the crumbling foundations for the Clubs 'business model' 4-5 years ago. How ironic it would be if the Chairman of the Board was actually originally involved in the construction industry.

Well fingers crossed for the charity's sake, that there will be some proceeds from the book . . . assuming that the project proceeds of course.

Do catch up Ward was blamed in early verbal exchanges The official in depth internal review concluded the only reason for relegation was insufficient goals, and in further in depth strategic thinking, this was felt to be particularly pertinent when the other team scored the same or even more than us. We are lucky to have such a forward thinking and insightful management team on the non football side. After all, as Nick himself proudly said at the Supporters Club EGM (and I do quote) "Bristol Rovers wouldn't be where it is without us" You really couldnt make this stuff up
