tut tut. you obviously didn't see the memo that Taylor is due for a goal and the floodgates are about to open, to recompense him for his workrate and vision. come on old chap, get with the programme! He must have 3D vision programming in that case 'cos he appears to have little ability to anticipate where he needs to be so he's in the right position to either knock the ball in the back of the net or to know where his partner is going to knock the ball down so he can finish it off. As much as I so want him to succeed unfortunately despite all the other attributes he has the one we require from him most of all appears to be sadly lacking Doesn't seem to have any composure in front of goal what so ever. Every chance no matter how far out or how many bodies are around, he lashes everything with his laces. The amount of times a neat passing finish has been required and he has ballooned It into the blackthorn end!! He won't ever be prolific, not in our colours anyway. Gave up long ago expecting any successful efforts on goal from Taylor, that aren't penalties anyway.

If she is 9 months preggers she is incredibly slim because I saw the whole family all as they left the MOTM award at Welling home match. I'm not saying you are wrong. I wasn't really on preggers watch, otherwise I'd be more assertive on the issue. sounds like you are right. from Manse's twitter last week... "Exciting times saw our baby for the last time before he/she is born going to be a crazy couple of weeks waiting now" From Lee Mansell twitter yesterday: Lee Mansell @manse7 · Dec 15 I was rested at the weekend because of my knee and the amount of games not due to my wife being pregnant as some have made up

So it seems Barnet are taking the tournament as seriously as us - lost 2-6 at home to Concord Rangers in tonight's replay. Feel better about losing 0-2 now. But not much.

I had to check to see if this was correct! And it is. Wow. Did Barnet play their 1st team or a pretty strong team like we did? Or did they field a bunch of younsters who no one have heard of? If it was a strong side then I also feel slightly better about the our Bath game. If they fielded a weakened side then that may explain the result!

They fielded mostly Youth players so had no real intention to win it. Us however after our performance saturday might have done better with our Youth team!!

If DC isn't to blame when we lose as it is the players on the pitch fault, I presume that he isn't due any credit for us being 3rd in the table as well? Some dont give him any credit anyway as they think he is a crap manager Don't think they see him as a crap manager, just one who is very inexperienced.

Finished with Eight U18s, one returning from injury needing match practise and one who is usually a sub plus a part time keeper (He normally works in the bar).

The Barnet result I think show's the contempt that most Conf Prem sides show the FA Trophy. Think the anger shown by us is mainly as it was Bath City which is a little embarrassing.
At the end of the day getting out early o will only boost our hopes of going up.

And avoid the midweek fixtures, injuries, fatigue and potential suspensions that would have come with a cup run... all whilst we sit and relax. I wonder what team he would have played if we were still i the competition.

I wonder what team he would have played if we were still i the competition. The same team. It wasn't about whether Bristol Rovers were in\out of the competition. It was about having four games in 15 days coming up and so not risking injury or suspension to the first team. If his attempt to win last Saturday with a half strength team had paid off then we would've fielded a stronger team in the competition after Xmas.

Because, of course, there's no risk of injury or suspension after christmas.

The format of the trophy seems odd to me. Not sure why they compress all the rounds into such a short period prior to anD after the busy Xmas period. Would have thought starting it earlier and finishing later would be better.
Although I guess that might get in the way of the qualifying process for the FA cup?

blah blah blah. what matters is that he quite cynically wanted to lose.

After Xmas we have no midweek games scheduled so a two week injury after xmas means being without a player for one\two games. Over Xmas it's 4-5 games. A suspension reduces the ability to rotate with such small gaps between games so is more damaging.

A suspension reduces the ability to rotate with such small gaps between games so is more damaging. Well, suspensions are done by the match, not by time, so the number of matches per week is irrelevant. Injuries of course will be effectively more serious if you miss more matches but by their nature are freak events in any case. I can see the point of playing a weaker side when you're busier, like you suggest, but that's more about recovery time and fatgue, istm, rather than potential injuries and suspensions.
