Surely the manager must take some blame, not just the players. Against part timers we should have started at a high tempo and stretched them. We took Barnet apart with those tactics. Would rather have seen the likes of youngsters Harrison, Ward-Baptiste and Lucas given a chance. Martin and Gosling will never improve the team. Been watching for over 50 years, was this the worst performance ever ?. Worries me that DC has to keep tinkering with his starting formation.

Have we ever lost at home to a Conference side, let alone a Conference South one, in recent times?

So far this season we have got some results through sheer effort rather than ability. Yesterday was an example of what these performances would have been like without the effort. Absolute disgrace. But I would be more worried if we put in a performance like this in the league, not saying it's acceptable but it's not our priority.

Steve, is that the lowest set of marks that you have awarded?

Considering it only took less than one full match in the Trophy for an injury I'm very relieved we were knocked out of it! Though thankfully it sounds like Blissett won't be out for long, it sent alarm bells ringing. The fact we were able to play a home game at the same time as City shows how Mickey the tournament is, IMO the fewest competitive games we play against non-league sides the better!

Brizzle, yes I am sure that I haven't marked that low before and that IMO pretty well sums up both the team and the individual performances yesterday. I know there were changes but the players that played should still have been capable of beating what was a very ordinary Bath team.

I believe Mansell was left out due to the imminent arrival of his son/daughter?? If that is true, I'm not sure DC can be blamed for starting Clarke. If she is 9 months preggers she is incredibly slim because I saw the whole family all as they left the MOTM award at Welling home match. I'm not saying you are wrong. I wasn't really on preggers watch, otherwise I'd be more assertive on the issue.

If DC isn't to blame when we lose as it is the players on the pitch fault, I presume that he isn't due any credit for us being 3rd in the table as well?

held my thoughts on saturday for a while ...
I think this was agame where by manager , players and even some fans thought if we win great if we dont its no big deal as getting out of this league is what matters.
This translated to the performance we saw. The telling sign for me was when we went 2 down and trotman and parkes were knocking the ball to each other and not in any hurry to get the ball moving forward, there was no yelling from the bench (even MS and SY who are the vocal ones normally) all bar the fans were none to bothered I felt once the 2nd went in we lost total interest and thoughts switched to Friday at home to Gateshead.
Was it embarassing to lose 2 nil at home to Bath ? Yes , in the grand scheme of things does it mean a great deal? not really What is important is the Players , Manager , coaching staff ect get the players/themselves ready, fit and raring to go for Friday and the xmas period as these are the games that will truly define our season, Gateshead , Macclesfield , Torquay twice and Nuneaton to come 15 points to play for ... 9 points is a minimum level for play off place level to stay on track... i reckon with 12 or more putting us right on Barnets tails.
if we get 12 points over that period no will remeber the loss to Bath

Our last ten games, despite losing just once have yeilded only 3 victories. Improvement clearly needed, Christmas I fear will see the wheels come off.

I saw nothing on Saturday to suggest we are going to create enough chances to enable our not very prolific goal scoring forwards to put the ball in the back of the net. Matty Taylor scores from about 1 in 6 chances and I don't really see Blissett improving on that ratio. However, if we can put Gateshead under early pressure like we did Barnet and somehow get the ball in the back of the net there's no reason why we can't get a positive result, so fingers crossed UTG !

He must have 3D vision programming in that case 'cos he appears to have little ability to anticipate where he needs to be so he's in the right position to either knock the ball in the back of the net or to know where his partner is going to knock the ball down so he can finish it off. As much as I so want him to succeed unfortunately despite all the other attributes he has the one we require from him most of all appears to be sadly lacking
