At least we can concentrate on the league . It's only a Micky mouse cup. Better off out of it!!
Downsides:
The slightly weakened team that we put out has proved its inability to deliver against lower league opposition.
Any confidence from a positive run of results is negated by abject failure.
Having also been ejected from the FA Cup, we were hardly looking at a massive fixture backlog. If we are worried about our professionals playing two games a week, God help us.
We are deprived of the opportunity of a brilliant day out (if we had got to the final). Let's be honest, our last brilliant day out was nearly eight years ago.
Yeh - we have a lot to be thankful for this evening.......
Well said.

Are you Buckle in disguise?...raise your expectations...if you aim for the moon and miss, you are still amongst the stars...if you aim for part time clubs..you will be one Astronomy is not your strong point. LOL my poor attempt at being a smartass

we were shockingly rubbish today, i really couldn't care less though, as long as we're still in those play-offs.

That was dire today. Bath City played well and thoroughly deserved to win. Where the **** do we go with this lot I do not know, although one thingi is for sure we have no creativity in midfield, no wingers who can actually beat the full back and get in a centre, and when did the club last have so many inept attackers, none of the current crop look like ever scoring. ffs

funniest post on this tread so far 'Twas entertaining. You have just lost to Bath City. He has every right to be pissed off. Pissed off is understandable, but the comments about DC are a joke, today has nothing to do with the number one aim which is promotion, unless i'm missing something and winning the FA Trophy gives a promotion place back to the football league. Wouldn't it be nice if as much energy used venting about our defeats this season were put into enjoying our victories, both forums and twitter are like a graveyard after we win. Time to focus on the league and on getting important transfer business done in January, plenty of incomings and outgoings on the cards next month, plenty of games left to cement a place in the play offs.

That's every other forum in the football league though.
Fair silence or muted appreciation after a win and total meltdown after a loss. Human nature I guess, you're always more animated when angry.

The concern is that today's performance was typical of recent away games but we had flapper in goal today rather than Mildenhall. Gateshead now becomes a crunch game as another performance like today's, particularly if Blisset can't shake off his injury by Friday, will really set alarm bells ringing as we just seem incapable of creating goalscoring chances w/o LDV.

Terrible result, even if it were a reserve or friendly game however it's a competitive game. Professional players and managers are on our payroll to win every game for both sporting achievement and financial reasons. They've been found guilty on both parts today.
The winners of this match earned £5000 in match fees and Clarke has decided to just throw that away. That money could have been out to use to give youngsters a free rovers mug or t- shirt or to send back Martin early. Instead his team replicated Clarkes approach and lost, despite all the professional advantages that our set up has over part timers.
Shameful of the club. It may be seen as a dark day by being in the competition but it's much darker being knocked out and now having a demotivated team and fan base. How can this be an advantage?

Today wasn't lucky just took a long time to break down a side that parked the proverbial bus. 3-0 away or 1-0 at home. Still same points

I was t there so cant comment on how bad it was. The result wasnt great, but no point dwelling on it.
We are second in the league and have a massive game Friday to win.
There are areas that need strengthening and we cant do much about that until January.
Blisset has been a good addition and LDV was especially with his ability until his unfortunate injury. Those two added a differe t dimension to out play. The lege
Come january whena couple more loanees go back hopefully we can bolster the midfield area and find another LDV type.
We have plenty to play for. Yesterdays result is not good at all, but we are in a decent position in the league which has been the only aim this season, so lets get behind them
