Are attitudes permanent? How do you assess an attitude? Not having a go but find your posts interesting, the answer lies in the person with the attitude and how their brains are wired, and what is an attitude,it's nigh on impossible to asses an attitude as each person sees different things in others, but whats defined as an attitude is probably more a personal trait in the individual, for example , people say i have an attitude problem, it held me back for years in employment i tell it like it is if people dont like the answer tough, bit it's a personal trait of mine it's who i am but i also accept that, me being me will have an affect on my life and i accept it. perhaps he cant accept that he's a lot smaller than his ego. Again can attitude be linked firmly with beliefs and opinions, as an example i cannot accept religion or history as taught, however i will research and form a balanced view on those subjects so over time this position changes or not depending on how the persons brain is wired, but if god woke i up with a bacon butty then i would have to believe in it. If jj is a lazy s*** then this can be changed through hard work and discipline however he would have to shape his ego to accept that he can only be good through sheer hard work discipline and dedication, clubs should bring in bonus based pay ie give 100% in training and a match and get 100% of your pay, give 50% and only get 50% pay So how high would you jump for a bacon sandwich !!! O'toole without doubt has talent and ability but has only applied it in short bursts so never yet reached his potential. One hopes he doesn't look back on his career with regret when it's too late as he still has time on his hands to turn it around. Without doubt since Watford he has seemingly gone backwards IMHO as the clubs he has since played for are really below the standard I believe he has the potential to play for - possibly Championship standard. Whether of not he will go on to achieve this is really down to him - maybe not taking the highest pay cheque for the lowest return on his part is where he needs to start and play for a club where he continuously has to stretch himself to play might be the way forward to achieve his potential as he is never going to go anywhere by trying to be the big fish in a very small pond.

Southend's manager Brown is keen once more to take O'tool. Good luck to him with that one then. He always seemed to be reasonably normal too, but clearly not.

Southend's manager Brown is keen once more to take O'tool. As JJ has a pastel toned skin it will make Browns sun bed tan look better. Northampton fan say he's as fit as an asthmatic pit pony which seems strange as fitness wasnt one of his problems with us.

You'll never look fit if you spend all your time standing around looking disinterested

The long-term implications to Rovers of using incorrect grouting procedures are simply dire and it is an area that has been scandalously neglected by the board, consecutive managers and a complacent and apathetic fanbase who are not holding the club to account for their continued persistant pigheaded refusal to adopt modern grouting methods.

A Sarfend friend has asked me what to expect. Told him JJOT will definitely keep them in L2, he was a bit disappointed with that given they're in the Play offs

Oh JJ you keep signing these 3 year contracts miles away from your beloved London/Essex, maybe if you stopped following the cash you might be able to concentrate on the football you can be half decent at when you feel like it.
You could have been a god, but now you are just a rich greasy-gypsy-looking nob..

Three years plus a clause that he could walk away after twelve months on a "free" if he wished.
That really p*ssed DC off.

Of all the generous contracts that have been reportedly handed out to virtually all and sundry in recent years by BRFC, then J-J O'Toole's must be something of a masterclass in stupidity on our part.. Why on earth a club in League Two would even consider signing a player on a three-year contract, let alone with a clause inserted that the player could leave after 12 months without any penalty is beyond me. I realise that he was intended to be our Messiah, and if it had worked out then he and the Board would have been handed all of the plaudits. But in hindsight (and we're all very good at that I know) it was doomed from the start because the player didn't really want to come here. Anyone who remembers the time that it took him to put pen to paper would agree with that I'm certain. But apparently we paid a lot of money for him, which had to be written off when he walked after the first year. Now I'm not too certain if that smells of desperation on our part, or good old fashioned stupidity, but hindsight tells us that John-Joe O'Toole is unlikely to be happy in his football career because he was rejected by Watford . . . and is yet to recover from that rejection. I believe that this is the root of his ''attitude.'' I haven't followed his career too closely since he left us, but I find it interesting that Northampton have similar experiences to ourselves. It will be interesting to see whether he can bring himself to show any interest in his (latest) new club. But significantly none of the clubs that have come in for him are anywhere near the standard of where he imagined himself playing at. In fact it's been all steadily downhill. But the fact remains that like several other players of that time, he royally done us over . . . good and proper too.

O'tool is the main picture in the BRFC 2014 calendar for December, might cover it up with one of the mother-in-law. I thought it was a deliberately included dart board and a feature of the final month of the calendar. Festive fun for all the family!

Hardly JJ's fault we got ourselves relegated. He actually did us a favour by leaving as paying his wages on a reduced playing budget would have been problematic.
Issue was the spectacular mismanagement that got us into this mess.
