Think we had two game changers on the bench (Della-Verde and Harrison) but did not use them to their full potential. On the other hand not being in the cup is not too big a deal for me. See what happens on Tuesday. we need the money. a replay would have made some cash (haven't had a home game for 21 days!), and if we won that we could have had a decent pay-day in 2nd round. we 'only' have 3 midweek games before new year, and 1st FA Tropht match has a saturday set aside, so we could have handled another game or to I think. We need to get out of this League more than we need the money.

Never like to see rovers lose but if I'm honest I'm glad we are out of this competition. We need to just think about the league and only the league and the FA cup and FA vase we can do without so come on gas lets get 3 points Tuesday and focus on what really matters! We're not even in the Vase? But a trip to Wembley in the Trophy could be just as influential as a trip to Cardiff in our promotion season. sorry thought the vase was the trophy lol not used to non league cups

So where are all these quality 20+ goal-a-season strikers hiding? Lots of people think they are sat at home waiting for a call up from us and every other football club in the country. It's a big deal to move to another club at this level where big money isn't paid especially if you have a family to relocate ect. If you can score that kind of goal tally then your going to be playing in the FL! Wake up people......

Today you would have thought we were the home side both from our attacking football and the noise made by the Gasheads even though there didn't seem to be that many. Tranmere showed why they are where they are in the League. Nervous with numerous missed passes. They will consider themselves very lucky today! We started well and it is one of the best passing games I have seen in a while. There were some great inter changes in the game and Sinclair especially must have a high pass % rate. Most of the players had a good game and Brunt seemed on good form. Taylor makes great runs and passes but never looked like scoring as did most of our "strikers". Looks like a midfielder playing upfront. Harrison made an initial impact but put one shot high in the stands when it looked easier to score. I have no idea who hand balled but it looked a bloody ludicrous thing to do when the ball was going nowhere. Gosling had some great wing play but looks very one footed playing on the wrong wing always having to cut back. The reason Cunnington came on was a bold move by Clarke to at least "go for it" and finish attacking which nearly paid off. I won't criticise the team as it was a great performance and very enjoyable to watch the game. I hope they can keep this form up but yes we DO need a striker/fox in the box/just someone to get on the end of the balls we get in the box.....
Well played the Gas and well done the Gasheads for making so much noise

Alfreton who I assume are part time didn't play to-day and won at Altrincham last time out but we should do it .Very modest ground. Tiny and only holds 3,600 max.Not too far for me.Leadbitter av' again 'Like him.

Crap result, Tranmere not won in 10 games, just shows we are probably worse than last season and this tinpot league is making us look better than we are.

Tranmere were in League 1 last season mind you. It's not like you've lost to Mangotsfield.

I see Barnet lost 2 of their first team regulars to 3 match suspensions today. Yiadom 19 apps and Togwell 17 apps.Could turn out to be a very damaging day for them.Akinde 1 yellow away from a ban as well.

Why does it matter how good they were 2 seasons ago?
