If Bristol Sport offered to fund the expected shortfall on the UWE Stadium project would or could you accept it ??
or
God forbid Bristol Sport build the Stadium if BRFC pull out (expected on here) ??
i could live with option 1 and can't do anything about option 2

If it was to share with BRC I can't see a problem, I doubt BCFC will be interested in a ground share if they are redeveloping AG.
Option will be our fault for not being able to finance it ourselves!
But HG what's prompted this post?

There is absolutely no reason City would want to move to the UWE. I would be pleased to see Bristol Rugby leave AG though.

If BS wanted a stadium for Bristol Rugby they could always buy the Mem.
Everyone would be happy with that. Even the local NIMBYs.

But HG what's prompted this post? Just putting 2 & 2 together and getting 5.... I know other investors are looking to invest in the UWE just playing devils advocate on this..

Seems to me, it's likely there will be some kind of funding shortfall at the UWE, assuming Sainsburys don't just stump up the £30 million. Depending on how large this is, could the sale of the Mem for housing cover most of it (assuming that the Sainsburys money is compo and leaves us with the Mem still)?
It's obviously a fluid situation but I guess there could be a situation whereby a proportion of the money is provided by a separate investor. Provided this doesn't leave us at the mercy of said investor then I'd be fine with it. If someone provided 10% of the investment in return for 10% of the profits from the ground for a certain length of time, then it's all good surely?

Why would Bristol Sport want UWE Stadium? Bristol sport Franchise FC 82 City have a new /rebuilt bristolsport@ashton stadium being built Bristol Sport Franchise RFC have successfully moved to the Bristol Sport @ Ashton Gate Stadium which as above is being refitted (crowds have more than holding up (albeit with the aid of plenty of freebies being handed out) Bristol Sport Acadamy Ladies have a suitable ground at Filton WISE and can use Bristol Sport @ Ashton stadium for big games Bristol Sport Zamperelli forumla 2 Motor racing cant be held in a stadium like UWE (perhaps he could praticse in the car park?) Bristol Sport Flyers Basketball is held indoors @filton WISE so again UWE stadium not required If Gloucstershire CC was aquired by THe Bristopl Sport Franchise then the County ground has been refurbed so uwe not required (or suitable)
unless i've missed something there is no need or point in Bristol Sport Wanting any part of UWE stadium? unless.....Speedway? Athletics? Rugby League?

It's almost as though the whole operation is a business rather than an altruistic promotion of Bristol sports teams. Can't be true though, everything he/they do is for the benefit of Bristol surely?

Bristol Rovers going out of business or continuing to struggle at a run down Memorial ground is the dream scenario for Lansdown, anyone who thinks he will fund a UWE stadium and therefore help Rovers is on crack cocaine.

Depends whether he dreams about Bristol City or Bristol Rugby. You're assuming that he's really all about Bristol City and he doesn't really give a s**t about Bristol Rugby, and he just bought them on the cheap to boost his sports empire and moved them to the gate to bleed off the rugby matchday return into City's coffers,... oh wait.

While Bristol Rovers are not specifically excluded from becoming part of Bristol Sport, it is unlikely that they will ever be invited to join unless they get themselves into massive trouble and the survival of the club was at stake.
I hope Bristol Rovers can get their new ground built, however it seems less likely to be any time soon and to be frank it is no longer the priority of the club (if it is then BRFC may well be outside the football league longer than necessary).
BRFC are the competitors of Bristol City (in terms of attracting supporters) and as such it would make no sense for Bristol Sport to underpin BRFC with assistance (unless as above) as football supporters do not tend to follow two clubs simultaneously in any sustainable number.
Steve Lansdown has put 50m into Bristol City and is currently busy shoving in another 30m into the 'Trashton Tart Up' plus the investment of sports facilities at AV etc. Yes SL is a businessman, however the investment in Bristol Sport is not about making money (at 1.5Bn, he has plenty of that and its growing at a faster rate than most of us could imagine) its about a legacy to the City of Bristol (Altruism is the preserve of Billionaires) probably someday with his name attached...The Steve Lansdown Aston Gate (The SLAG one for you boys to ponder LOL!) perhaps or something along those lines after his demise (or perhaps before). Either way what is clear is Steve Lansdown is also a supporter of Bristol City FC and Bristol Rugby et al, which helps, and specifically not a supporter of BRFC as he has made it plain that he feels the board (and supporters) of BRFC could have been far more helpful (the board of BRFC being a huge topic of conversation on this forum also!!) than they have been on a number of issues, including AV among sundry other matters.
Hope this helps!

I didnt save he should invest in BRFC but in the EWE Stadium, if the finance has a shortfall, which it appears it has, then there is nothing stopping anyone, if invited, from investing in the ground without investing in the club.
