Looked a different person, unfortunately he's still the same mistake-riddled player.

Looked even more emphatic when he was stood next to Parkin.

Barratt looked excellent alongside Spencer Prior at Southend because they complimented each others skills very well - alongside nearly everyone else he's played with in his career he has not looked anywhere near as good. Byron Anthony looked excellent playing alongside Steve Elliot but without that dominating physical presence he looked weak and indecisive.

He is a good defender and puts his body on the, his big fault is he over hits most of his passes . If we got a good coach practice and more practice judging the weight of his passing would see his return to the league at some stage of his career.

Which leads me to believe that Parkes was way better when we played with Bolger, then a fit and on peak form McChrystal, then after all the shifting around with defenders (young Lockyer, Woodards, then unfit and off-form McChrystal etc) he started to feel the effects and only now with Trotman he's regaining some ground to stand. (This is all one big story I just made up on the spot, but who knows)

third behind Lockyer..... Much as I rate Lockyer in the back I think he's going to be RB for a while sadly could be true. really, really hope not. we need to sort this out. If leadbitter isn't good enough at RB (and/or is shifted to right wing) we need to find someone who is. utterly fed up of players playing out of position. Tom really is not a particularly good RB. Not his fault. he's a CB.

I recommended an attacking young right back who's played at a higher level who was keen to trial with Rovers a month or so ago and he's had no contact from the club. Not saying he was the answer but would have thought if dc was looking for a rb he'd have been offered a trial at least. Think a striker might be more in his thoughts right now.

Central defenders are good at defending, not many are good enough on the ball to spray inch perfect passes all over the pitch. They should focus on their defending and play the easy ball out, not try and do something they're not good at. Great teams are moulded from players who focus on their jobs and make it easy for others to do theirs. Parkes needs help to focus and to stop doing rash things, only then will he stop making silly blunders.

IMO Tom Lockyer is not a full back. Tom likes the ball coming onto him and is completely ******* when players turn him, as he was particularly poor against Barnet. Slimmed down Parkes still makes basic errors, boots the ball any where and constantly under hits passes, even across his own box, ask Mildy. UTG
