You will be surprised, I did this journey every weekend for 3 months. The 2 hours seem like a life time. On a positive note you will be able to put a picture to the place names that appear on points west weather. You know the ones you've they stick on to keep the country folk happy! Fair enough but I've been on some horrendous journeys around the world that have taken 12,16 &18 hours in intense heat with no fans where I could've cried lol.. That's what I was getting at, journey from hell indeed... Travelling round the world? Devistated for you mate!!!

Pedants corner. It's a Railway Station, not a train station. So there.

Dorchester have held league games as well, it's an excellent ground for Southern League level.

The journey on the train takes over 2 hours, stopping at 16 stations on an old 2 carriage train going no more than 60mph. I've learnt over the years that fellow gasheads, trains & booze don't mix very well, i feel sorry for anyone who is going by train next week as it will be a journey from hell. Only 2 carriages - so is it likely that those getting on a Bath will not get a seat? I'm asking as I'm going with somebody who has mobility issues, and can only stand up for limited periods of time, and seats aren't bookable on the off-peak return tickets.

Cheers - I'll have another look at the booking site! smiley-char152 Update - went through the ticketing process, but just says that you can sit in any unreserved seat, which makes me think that the majority of seats have now been reserved.

I went to visit a friend in Weymouth about 4 years ago during the peak summer time in July and there was only 2 carriages, i had a look on the FGW website and the train stops at Parkway, Temple Meads & Keynsham before Bath, so plenty of Gasheads will be at those stations. I'd be surprised if the guard let anyone on at Bath if the train is packed, I can only hope for anyone travelling that FGW makes sure there is a minimum of 3 carriages if not 4 running on Saturday, plus that line isn't the busiest train line around so i don't know why a football special hasn't been arranged.
