I stand totally behind my description of "disgraceful". Sorry but we should be able to beat those country bumpkins and why can't we actually SPRINT out of defence rather than languish in the penalty area. We allow very ordinary teams to get the initiative and that is down to Clark's tactics. The results are better than Wards results but the actual style of play is very similar and in all honesty we have not reached the standard of the better performances (although few as they were) of last season. (Portsmouth, Newport,Burton come to mind) I really think these players are capable of better but need to be given a more attacking philosophy. Can't fault the effort of the players which is a lot better than last season but inability to beat a very ordinary Forest Green is just not acceptable. Our problems are far deeper than just the "take our chances and we win the game" attitude of our Manager.

Didn't we fall flat on our faces when we went to Altrincham with the we only need to turn up to beat these Northern part timers?
If we'd taken 1, or even 2, of our 5 clear chances we'd all be saying what a fantastic come back by 10 men.
The second performances showed if DC can add two good players to the squad we can beat anybody in this league.
We were also missing our best offensive player so far this season in Sinclair.

Should be better than forest green first half and second.. forest green rovers who are they?? Not good enough, especially at home. Like someone said above the majority of the side are part time and we aren't to convincing when we win. People getting ahead of themselves after the 9 game unbeaten run, we are still poor and need additions fast. A professional team with a wealthy owner who probably spend more on wages than BRFC. Why shouldn't they beat us? We are BRFC who are a conference league team exactly the same as FGR. They had players who have considerable more league experience than us because thats the owner's policy of spending. We have tried that in recent years and we have ended up with journeymen footballers which the fans moaned about. We lost the game in the first half when we didnt turn up, if we had played with the same passion as the first half we probably would have won the game comfortably. I don't get the attitude of mocking these 'little' teams without looking at the facts.

I think 'disappointing' is a more appropriate word than the use of 'disgraceful' in the title of this thread.
Yesterday we had more than enough opportunities to get a point (some may even argue a win). It's all about taking your chances at the end of the day and it is something that we are going to have to rectify and work on over the next two weeks. Did we play well? No we didn't and that's disappointing. However, if Taylor, Trotman, Harrison and Cunnington had taken their chances then it's a totally different outcome. The word disgraceful would not have even been uttered.
1 defeat in 9 shows that we must have been doing something right. Let's now look to rectify our core weakness. We all know where that is so it is up to the manager, his staff and the board to rectify this situation in the coming weeks.
If we learn from these setbacks (as we did after Braintree) then there is no reason why we cannot go on another unbeaten 9 match run.

For me the most disgraceful aspect of the afternoon was the unacceptable abuse Taylor received from some 'fans' who very shortly after were giving David Pipe a clap as he left the pitch. He is hardly Messi, and I would fully support dropping him, but he didnt deserve that. Very few ex Rovers players have earned the right to be clapped off the pitch when playing for the opposition. Elliott, Disley - absolutely. Pipe - no chance. Shows the lack of intelligence of some of our supporters. Could not agree more -If I recall correctly Pipe was also clapped when he walked towards the dugouts before the start? You could not make it up!
Guess I am in the minority but I don't like ex - jailbirds playing for football teams - far too many in the football league!

Tell me what is the difference between an ex jailbird being a plumber, decorator or footballer. They have done their time paid for their crime and have the right to pursue their chosen profession. Whether he should have been applauded is a moot point, but we needed someone in the first half with a bit of the aggression he showed when he played for us. The comments i got from an ex director, not GD,was the display lacked courage, skill and the will to win. There are players in the side who are not even up to conference standard and 9 game unbeaten run just paoered over the cracks, after all we struggled against Dartford,Dover,Southport,Altrincham to name but a few and 20 goals, including 2 penalties,in 17 games tells the full story.I have recommended a number of potential striking signings to the club with the usual response, apart from MS saying the striking 2 are playing well and dont need any others

. . . and stand by for another one, all eyes are on Bramall Lane and the Chairman of Sheffield United to see what decision he will make in his dilemma. But after paying out a hefty transfer fee for the player, and continuing to pay him a whopping salary whilst he was banged up, it's possible that he won't have his moral hat on but his businessman's hat when it comes to decision time. I believe that I'm right in saying though, that the players contract is almost up, so if the Chairman is looking for a way out, then this could be it. But I believe that even then, the player will still find employment within the game, because he (like the rest of us) is protected under the law.

And did I hear correctly in DCs post match interview that a bid had been turned down for a player? So could be that we might have to wait a bit longer for the Cavalry to arrive. I believe that sadly you did, matealotblue. I think that DC said that he had made an offer to a player, but the offer had been rejected. Sad ennit, that we cannot even attract a professional footballer to us, who is in need of a club? But looking on the bright side of things, Angelo Balanta cannot be too far off making his debut for us, can he?

It was one of those games where you trudge away at the end wondering why you bother. Two poor sides, poor footballing skills (how Norwood captained the England C team (or Parkes get considered) I'll never know), three bad officials, overpriced and low quality pies, the bars seem unable to keep a good pint, disenfranchised fans blah blah blah
Yet it was the only loss at home this season.

You should have seen the two previous home games against Dartford and Dover. Atleast FGR had fight and a few good players and we matched the fight in the second half. The Dartford and Dover games were so boring it was unbelievable. Hanging on against two downs league teams was embarrassing. Yesterdays game was quite interesting in comparison. We haven't had a good striker since Hoskins left, last season we got Beardsley in and Ward even admitted "he doesn't score many". You couldn't make it up. I like Taylor but not as a striker as he is dire in front of goal, Cunnington is the worst player I have seen us have for years.

I have a season ticket, but for some reason yesterday left me more despondent. Perhaps it was an accumulation from previous games, slipping out of the play offs to a poor team and with little hope of the future in terms of getting in players or coping when injuries eg Sinclair and suspensions eg Lockyer kick in more.

I know DC has come out with some pearls of wisdom recently but his latest after he said in the non league newspaper interview with Sam Elliot on page 18 "Lets put into context, we've lost one of our last ten games. If we carry on like this we'll win the league."
blind faith or what ?
We did not and have not looked convincing in any of those last ten matches. The group need to improve a lot to seriously challenge Barnet. Leadbitter is not as good as Lockyer and Clarke is a poor replacement for Sinclair. Martin and Cunnington have failed to improve the side and need to go back to their respective Clubs. Harrison needs another few starts and how about bringing Jamie Lucas back from Weston and giving him a chance up front or some sub appearances.

Fitst half was woeful, but i agree woth Fargas we were better in the second half than we have been in the recent games. FGR were crap and we had the chances to have beat them comfortably Martin. s***e. Only has foot and seems reluctant to run with the ball most of the time. He van go back Cunnington is crap as well. Let Coles boss him about all game. His flick ons are s***. I like Taylor but he needs a rest. White and Harrison deserve a chance against Dorchester. Ellis at least makes himself a handful. Miss Sinclair and his all energy always moving in misfield badly Is this English?

I don't care if we play the way we have, if we only lose one game every ten, then yes we will probably win the league. As for Lucas, errr no

Lee Brown has posted something on Facebook that sums up perfectly the embarrassing reaction of the majority to yesterdays defeat. A senior player feeling like this points to a dressing room that is being torn apart by the baying mob outside who have this ridiculous mindset that we should be winning every game and if we don't then DC and the squad should be beaten with a stick. How do people expect the players to pick themselves up and go on another run when the previous one has been met with such disgust.

I thought we looked poor yesterday and didn't deserve the points, although it was strange that we had enough good chances to win the game...
FGR looked better than us I thought sadly, Parkin looked a class act. Coles and the other centre back were decent and the left back kelly looked good. Stu Sinclairs brother also controlled the midfield and that Guthrie who was orchestrating all the time wasting at the end knew what he was doing.
Having said that though, we could and should have taken the chances to win the game.
The positive to take must be that although as a team and individually we didn't play well we still created decent chances.

People are disappointed that we didn't win because we were the better side and wasted chances, if players don't like that then football isn't really for them. We kinda should be winning every game, especially at home. Were they booed off yesterday?
