Based on what you have seen from Cunnington and Martin, if the chance came up to sign them permanently, should we do so?

without knowing the wage demands / budget, I'd generally say yes to Cunnington and maybe for Martin.
Martin has been so hot and cold it has been troublesome. I suspect he might be of use in this league but not any higher. Was excellent vs Nuneaton (the worst team we have played?) and his corners can be very dangerous. Maybe he's a flat track bully? exc against lesser oppo, but could struggle to make an impact on better defenders?

Would take them both - Cunnington offers both a target man and a good holder of the ball, and Martin (on his day) can offer pace and width. Agreed he has been a bit 'hot and cold' on occasions but he will be a useful addition without a doubt.

Yes and yes.
I think Martin is underrated and he offers us something that we don't have a lot of in the rest of the squad.

When Martin is on form he looks a very good player. His delivery from set-pieces and open play is usually very decent - especially in comparison to what we've had in recent years - and he does try and beat his man when he gets the ball, which is encouraging to see. I do concede though that there are games where he looks ineffective going forwards and it comes as a bit of a frustration when you consider how good he can be in other games. What makes him a useful player to have on the pitch on those occasions is the fact he takes his defensive duties seriously and gives Lee Brown a lot of help down the left in closing the ball down and putting in tackles. I'm always nervy when an opponent is running at Browner so it's good to see Martin getting back in to support him when we haven't got the ball.
I like him and would certainly look to extend his loan if possible but I would hesitate to offer him anything permanent until he shows a bit of consistency.
With Cunnington I see plenty of good parts to his play and I think he does a better job than Harrold did last season in holding the ball up and winning flick ons, but I am concerned sometimes with his decision-making in the penalty area. He shoots when he has better options around him and turns back when he has a chance to take a strike on. Having said that I'd certainly be keen on keeping him here for the rest of this season if Cambridge allow us to because he has proven in the past that he can score goals at this level and I think that when he forms a better understanding with Taylor that they will form a good partnership.
So, I'd extend both their loans today if we possibly could but would hold off on signing either permanently just yet. That's not to say I'd be disappointed if we did sign them but I'd like to see a bit more from both of them first.

Yes to both. We just need to use the strengths of both of them more.
Cunnington has a good eye for goal and gets to and directs a lot of headers, but we couldn't seem to get anyone on the end of them on Saturday.
Martin is just the sort of pacey & tricky winger we need, combines well with Lee Brown, has dangerous set-piece delivery and at best has the beating of most right backs in this division.

Martin blows hot and a lot of cold, typical for a winger, needs to be more consistent for me
Cunington best leader of the line that we have had for years, holds the ball up, flicks the ball on, eye for goal, sometimes a bit to selfish, the only trouble is the other players do not read his game. Would keep him, if he had any pace he would not be playing at this level.

Yes to both.
Martin isn't always at it, but when he is we have a hell of a winger on our hands!

No to Cunnington - Too weak, not good in the air despite his height.
Yes to Martin - Like people have said, he's inconsistent but we are a conference team! Always capable of beating his full back and the best set piece taker we've had for years.

Just to remind gasheads to be extra supportive of Dave Martin tomorrow. He is playing his local club and former club in Dartford, we want to give him every incentive of doing to them what most ex-Rovers have seemed to do to us over the years and play a blinder.

Neither are good enough to get us back into the Football League.

Martin to score, then. From a Dartford point of view. He'll probably get an own goal.
