Just back. 1-1 drubbing. How did we not win this?! Matt Taylor will get the blame, through one on one with the keeper, but seriously Cunnington twice should have squared to Taylor and shot from impossible positions, we also had 2 or 3 moves that set up great chances which were all messed up, what's wrong with putting your foot through the ball occasionally. Taylor played well, I think Ellis and him will prove to be a good combination. Dover kept going but we looked a better outfit. I don't think Matt a Taylor had one of his better games. Lost out too often to a fairly resolute back line. For me him and Gosling don't do quite enough at the moment. Suprised DC took Cunnington off, him and Ellis did well at Eastleigh.

What the **** was that today ? Ellis must be asking why did he not start ? Cunnington must be asking why he was taken off when Taylor was playing so ****, 1 goal in 13 matches, really ! Taylor is awful along with Jamie "over weight" white,IMO should not be around the first team. Clarke, who calims to have all the connections, needs to bring in a goal scorer asap. Trotmam and Lockyer at centre back for me, with calamity parkes dropped. And yes we need a right back, if clarke is not going to give leadbiiter a game. It's almost rhetorical, isn't it Peter? How long have have we been in need of a proven goalscorer, and more to the point what has the inability to sign one cost us? Now I realise that they cost a fair bit to recruit, but we've wasted more than our fair share of cash on ne'er-do-well players. I'm not having a dig at the manager here, but he did say without any prompting that he had ''connections,'' so perhaps the time is long overdue for him to take JW's telephone out of mothballs and get dialling. But in general terms I think that the management team all appear to be working well, and are to be congratulated, but there is still a vital ingredient missing and I don't feel that we'll get anywhere until the issue is addressed. Ideally Ryan Brunt could hold the key to the conundrum, but I would doubt that due to his suspected generous contract. I feel that even if Ryan were a success at York City, that would not necessarily mean that he would return to first-team duties with us. Having said all of that, it's an indisputable fact that the season is relatively barely under way. With over 30 games still to play there is still ample time for the situation to be remedied, but if we look at where we've come from on this, then I think that a little urgency is called for. Memo to NH and/or TW: Give the manager as much financial backing as you feel the club can stand, to sign the much required striker. He has done very well for us all so far this season on a limited budget, and if we are to achieve our dream of an immediate return to the Football League, then we may have to go a little further than we anticipated doing at the start of the season. And going back to the close season, when no-one knew exactly how many punters would be turning up, I think that it would be fair to say that our support has stood up really well, so that argument cannot be used . . . or can it?

Sorry have to say as much as I respect his work rate Taylor up front is just not working. Not sure if Harrison or White will provide the necessary goals but one of them have to be given the chance that Taylor has been given.

In the long run I think that's a good result, sometimes we need a shot across the bows just to tweak things and put us in our place. We've not had one of those since Braintree and then look what happened.
Shame we couldn't hold on but we have Tuesday to help sort that out. I'd look to start Harrison and Cunnington up top and take Gosling out as he won't be a avaliable at the weekend. Onwards and upwards gas.

Yeah, no harm in a little reality check sometimes - DC says the players were gutted in the dressing room afterwards and that's a good thing. I truly believe they've all got their eyes on the big prizes this season with us and desperately want to succeed. Liked some of the set pieces yesterday btw. Short corners/free kicks to catch Dover off guard and nearly passed our way through on a couple of occasions when we used them. Shows quick thinking and innovation imho

I agree about the reality check and it was the one thing our little group agreed about on the weekend! Use it to bounce back against Dartford and Aldershot and no one will remember this draw.
