So apparently we have a game tomorrow. Unbeaten run, not enough goals, no complacency blah blah blah... what we REALLY need to know is whether this is the first rhyming fixture the Gas have played in our history other than against other teams called Rovers.
Yes? Or no?

Got a feeling that Dover will set up like Telford did against us, so we may have to be patient and more importantly clinical when our chances come along. Another early goal at home would be nice.
The important thing is to get the three points and then move onto the next game. If we can do that with a few goals and some nice football then that would obviously be even better!

Dover certainly brings back memories for me. I moved from Bristol in 1979 to Surrey at the ripe old age of 14 and until I passed my driving test in 83 (being able to get back to Bristol to see Rovers) I followed my local team Leatherhead. Leatherhead were drawn away to Dover in the 4th Qualifying round of the FA cup. Me and a mate decided to go on one of the three coaches. Now in these days Dover were getting just a couple of hundred fans for this match there was over 1000 and two policemen on duty. After the match once back at the coach (after a somewhat hostile atmosphere as there was no crowd segregation) a large group of Dover fans decided to attack the coaches. In our coach we had bricks thrown through the windows and some Dover fans broke the emergency exit door trying to get access. Once out of the car park with a police escort we still had bricks thrown at the windows of all coaches. Arrived back in Leatherhead after 11.00pm where we saw that every coach had smashed windows. So not a nice bunch of supporters overall.
Have fun tomorrow!!

Well the Dover fans are all well behaved nowadays, best keep your wits about you when the 50 Somalians decamp from the luggage compartment mind.

We've played the Glovers a few times. Well, it's a sight rhyme I guess but it doesn't sound the same so Yeovil don't count (which is ironic as they should be much better at counting than most folks what with all those fingers)

The whites are depleted and unfortunately the legend Ricky Modeste, the fastest greyhound in the east, is unable to play. I love the snoop dog-esque player. They have however brought in some good quality reinforcements and destroyed Aldershot 3-0 in their last game. Their better than Telford, the beat them 4-1 just 2-3 weeks ago, so expect to see some breakaways at pace. That said Rovers should have too much quality throughout their team and with the likes of O'Toole now being Cobblers we now have a infected-free spine much like the wider British Pastoral industry.

We've played the Glovers a few times. I believe that's not rhyme, that's assonance, or 'getting the rhyme wrong' as Educating Rita put it
