I find it interesting that this forum is 3-4 times bigger than the other one but only has about a 35% number of posts on the match day tread ? Henbury, why look to start a problem when there isn't one. In the days of the OF it always had more posts on match day following than the AF and that tradition has probably continued as the youngsters have gravitated to Gaschat. I always used to look and post on that one rather than the AF. You also get the guess the gate, guess the score, guess the number of BoD at the game etc etc on Gaschat... should we be starting those also? Perhaps as posters say more people went to the game from here. Just enjoy the result rather than create an issue when there isn't one. I am sure people will find something else to argue about.....

Perhaps posters on here actually go to the match rather than just sit at home posting on the match thread, particulalry on a school night? Exactly. There must be a hidden agenda on the other forum, they are sat at home plotting while everyone here goes to the match.

FT. Excellent win. 3 wins on the trot - when was the last time that happened? 1 Feb 2013 when we beat Barnet 2-1 on that Friday evening having previously beaten Rotherham 3-1 and Fleetwood 3-0 away. And then I arrived in the country.

I've started calling my penis Agenda, it's often hidden. Does it have matters arising? No but it has it's own forum (penishead.org) and a rival forum (testicalchat.co.uk).

Another very good home win, as per usual never looked like losing and controlled the game from start to finish. Mansell was superb, he battled for everything, passed it well and is the best captain we've had since Campbell. Martin showed why he is going to be a real threat in home games, pace, skill and his crosses were very good, something we've lacked for too long. Cunnington and Taylor are looking like a promotion chasing strike duo, and although Leadbitter was unlucky to be left out, DC is showing how well he rotates his formation and line up. The squad is getting big and that means players fighting for there places which again is something we've lacked for to long with squads in the past lacking quality and depth, players now at BRFC know they have a manager who is not scared to mix it up. Interesting how these so called part time pub teams turned over more full time former league clubs tonight, goes to show that there is plenty of good quality teams in this league prepared to battle for points. Unbeaten at home, 10th in the league, 5 wins from the first 10 games, DC has a 50% win percentage, would have happily taken that after 4 woeful seasons on the bounce. Agree with this. What do you think about our defence ? Do you think it's good enough to get us the necessary wins away ? Cos we are going to need them even to get in top 5 ? I think they give up the ball way to often even when they are under little pressure - Trotman and Lockyer the most guilty.

Pleased that Matty Taylor got MoM , not necessarily a stand out performance from him as there were several, but he has put in some really good shifts in recent games, took his goal well so hopefully the goal and MoM will give him greater confidence.

Excellent result and some very pleasing stuff being played on the pitch. Taylor, Martin and Mansell were my picks last night. We are really starting to gain some momentum now!
However, there is always room for improvement. Two things that I have picked up so far this season that we must look to improve upon.
(1) We have to be more clinical. It really should have been 6 or 7 goals last night. The game should have been over by half time.
(2) The defence must look to distribute the ball a little bit better. I would also like to see our midfielders helping them out a bit more by coming deep and looking to receive the ball.
All things that can be ironed out with a bit of hard work on the training pitch.

I thought Parkes did it better last night as opposed to previous games, although I bet Tom Lockyer was never very good at pass the parcel when he was a kid

There aren't a huge number of people posting in the matchday forum on GasChat, just more posts per person. Some of those who pop up with a contribution are actually at the match. I think it's good that we have a few options to chose from re. posting.

Just watched the highlights from their last game.A pair of conference archetypal giant centre backs,a keeper that effortlessly punts from hand to the oppositions 18 yard line and all free kicks similarly delivered in the same area.No long throws in evidence though and just 2 or 3 clips of some half decent football so definetly a percentage football team on the whole.Aldershot seemed to get most joy down their right hand side so I hope Leadbitter plays and gets at the left back who may not be the quickest, hard to tell for sure as the Aldershot winger could be a flyer.Should be a meat and drink game for Trotman in dealing with the long balls to a not particularly tall forward line but wouldn't be surprised to see them score from a corner or free kick from that area.It won't be pretty but going for a 3-1 win for us on a night when we will move up a fair few places with a victory as lots of the teams currently above us are playing each other.UTG. KFC pretty darn accurate mate! although as I drove tothe Mem radio bristol were actually warning us that the beautifully entitled Exodus Geohaghon was 6'5" and had a massive throw. It wasn;t actually that big (ooh er..) and it wasn't used much, unlike the Halifax guy. I texted my brother to say they only looked like scoring from a corner or a free kick (which incidentally we gave too many away of) and that proved pretty accurate. Their keeper was a little flapper, but also made a few decent stops, and surprisingly had a big kick on him. To be fair to them though he mainly kicked it from the floor rather than his hands. Who needs a scout when you can learn everything in fine detail from a 6 minute vid haha.Crafty b######s didn't show 1 long throw in must be their secret weapon.Fair play to DC for attacking them down the sides and it paid off playing Gosling, still think Leadbitter might have had a field day but the manager doesn't seem to like him in a back 4.were picking up nicely now and the biggest plus point is touch wood the avoidance of injuries so far, which is of course totally different to the last few seasons.I think we're sneaking up on the blind side without people taking too much notice at the moment but it's really tightened up in the top half of the table and only 6 pts between 1st and 12 th now.Still need to improve and It would be fantastic if we get Turley in this week, still worried we might get gazumped for him though.

What i think will make the difference away from home is our attacking quality, i think the defence has struggled this season away from home, but the big positive compared to last season is i think we have much better quality going forward, and if and when we concede goals, i'm confident our forwards can cover any mistakes at the back and get us points on the road. Remarkable really how much better the squad looks compared to last season when you consider DC is working on a budget that has been cut by 30%, i think we also have the very high levels of fitness and team spirit to get us through some tough away trips up north when the winter sets in. If we can keep up the home form, then i see no reason why 8 away wins & 7 away draws won't be enough to secure a play off place, especially with a January window that could see some senior players move out and some new faces come in.

Surely this run of good results represent a double edged sword for Darrell Clarke. The further up the league we go the more 'out of his depth' he will become.

Just mocking the whole 'out of his depth' thing which makes no sense whatsoever.

Agreed: 9 - 0 up in the 85th minute. Nuneaton claw 9 back. Harrison's last minute "winner" goes in just after the whistle blows. Apparently if that happens we still get three points because last minute winners don't determine whether you won the game or not - it' who played best that counts. [br ] *bite* Satisfied..? Lol some people are so desperate for a little bit of attention...
