Tropical Night Concludes From Me. Eric Morecambe and Bruce Springsteen And I'm pretty sure that's Wayne Hussey in the middle. Winterbourne's finest. What a line up...

Nah - not really a fan of the National. Each to their own though. As an aside - Shaun Keaveny finished his stint at Radio 6 last Friday. His last show has an interesting and obviously personal playlist. Probably my favourite DJ so gutted. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000zdyz

I'm not having that! We will have to agree to disagree. Quite strongly in this instance. I guess humour is a very personal thing. I thought he was funny, bit left field, always entertaining. Great choice of music - what do you think to his final playlist? Radio 6 has got me through some very tough times, not just lockdown. Big fan of Lauren Laverne, Ratcliffe & Maconie, Cerys Mathews, Mark Riley, Steve Lamaque, Guy Garvey, Don Letts... I think Craig Charles is taking over the afternoon slot - I like him. Despite the fact that I don't really warm to wards 'funk and soul'. But what I find is the aforementioned all have a passion for the music that they play. I don't think they are doing it for the money - I get the impression they would do it for free. Now Mary Anne Hobbs I avoid like the plague, gives me a good reason to go out on my bike for a couple of hours. All rap (with a capital c) belongs on Radio 1 Xtra for the 'yoof' market (they can't even spell FFS). Rant over.

I think I have married LL at least 3 times ๐๐.she (( just did a D I discs with Micheal Holding. very much worth listening to and I didn't realize he was the same age as me)) Her morning show is great .agree with you on Mary Ann she is a bit pasty for me and I then go to Radio X or even R4 ,and No not attempted to listen in on his farewell show.Jimmy Ruffin would fit the bill for you there ๐...Craig C was always good on his evening show , and the variety of the rest always makes for good listening at all times..apart from Sunday morning with Certs her voice just Des my head in and a lot of her world choices tend to leave me ๐ค

LL has an amazing voice for radio. I too a big DID fan.
You know, if I was ever with her on the show, I would do the โyou can get a good 3 minutes from a 7 inchโ gag.
Is this the moment for her to provide tune of the day?

But just look at the playlist from Keaveney's last show - I'm not demanding that you listen to 3 hours of northerness if you don't like him! I agree that Cerys plays some damn weird sh*t. My wife hates her. My son says it's just too weird and she is far too Welsh. I just like listening to stuff I've never heard before... I HATE listening to stations that play a never ending relatively small mix of predictable, safe, over played, bland dog pooh. "Next up folks, don't touch that dial, we've got Fleetwood Mac, Queen and George Michael lined up - the same songs we played yesterday and the day before, and the day before that". AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH.
