Is it possible to be both mod and rock, intermittently? Cause moral outrage by beating yourself up. Put it like this... I,as a young man!! Tended to be more of a " mod", my brother ,one up from me was a "rocker" all motorbikes .dirty leather jackets 🤮 and all that ,while living in the same house 😀, tense was a word atimes!! Now 50 did years on it still is !! I’ve had a go there at choosing a classic mod and a rock example. What archetypal examples can you place under the headings? What was the brother playing over and over back in the day?

I think they fitted both sets of that era, Lennon was ,what I think the ultimate " smooth talking guy" but his stage persona was definitely Rock and roll, fitting that " rockers" image Is it possible to be both mod and rock, intermittently? Cause moral outrage by beating yourself up. I think they were initially rockers as the quarrymen

Thanks Bas - we obviously find more in common on Today's Tune than the Guzzler! Sadly just JJ Burnel from the original line up. Still a great bass player. Nice cameo from Psycho - (saw him play against the Gas in the League Cup early 90's - best player on the pitch). As a comment on YouTube states - where is this going to get played? Fun fact. My daughter is going to study music at Guildford at the weekend, birthplace of the Guildford Stranglers.

I was behind the Wembley goal when Stuart Pearce hit his penalty home v Spain. I suppose it will get some air play (don't know which station) and the loyal Stranglers fans will buy the album. I don't mind the song - I like Stuart Pearce' role - but it belongs very much in the post Hugh era. Is Dave on keyboards, recorded before he died? Apparently yes.

Irritating sort of nasal sounding vocals but it works on this Great track. Not to a put a finer point on it, say you're the only bee in my bonnet. Fun fact. They Might Be Giants do a cameo track in the film Coraline. Which is a brilliant.

Bob Geldof didn't like them at the time I seem to remember, in the days when he thought everyone or anyone for that matter, cared about his opinion. He called them They Might Be ***t*s
