humour was one of his things!! [woody [Guthrie] was as bad!!] I thought he'd sung the following at Woodstock... "And it's 1.2.3 what are we fighting for, Don't ask me, I don't give a damn, Next stop is Vietnam" But that was apparently "Country Joe and the Fish". The internet is a marvellous thing.

One the unsung Madness songs, and I don't just mean it's instrumental, is Tomorrow's Dream on 7.
The 12in version is called Animal Farm and is proof of the genius of their producers Langer and Winstanley.
Barson's keyboard is outstanding as ever, as it was in the TD live version somewhere on you tube, but they were all really on top of their game by this point, 1981.
I bought the 12in version on vinyl at a record fayre in the 90s, I think it might have been on the back of Tomorrow's Just Another Day, possibly.
This is great though.

the misconception of Mahler being a "miserable sod" blown away at times like this and among a lot of his other creations absolutely. The end of Mahler 2 “resurrection” is truly glorious. In fact, in the right hands, such as Rattle or Jurowski, the whole symphony stately introduces, skewers, repeats, bangs, surprises, meditates, expands, waltzes and builds to that hair tingling climax.
