No one has gone to prison right?
Don't see what the problem with the sentencing is? I mean the law is the law, maybe after the five years is up they won't go for a horse punch on the pitch again?

Not everyone punched a horse though did they? There were hundreds on the pitch at Wycombe the week before, how many of them got banning orders? How many got sentenced with banning orders after our red friends invaded the pitch after the JPT game? The decisions given are pathetic! And yes somebody did go to prison, for being involved in an incident where a policeman got hit, even though he wasn't the one who did it! The decisions are extremely unjust and compared to other similar incidents are extremely harsh! Do you think a 5 year ban for just being on the pitch is reasonable? Considering there were thousands of people on pitches all up and down the country that same weekend! I wonder if they were given the same sentence?

6 month suspended sentence, 5 year ban, 200 hours community service, Fine, and having to surrender your passport whenever England are away! What a joke! Can you appeal mate? LOL hasn't posted about "our" win, yet posts on thread like this... Strange(or not...)

I remember getting a bollocking from my mum when I was a kid. A bunch of us had been jumping off of a portacabin onto a load of sand at the building site of the new estate near us. She didn't seem to give a crap about what others were doing either and used her jurisdiction at the time and punished only me. I wasn't allowed on my ZX Spectrum for a week. I thought it was unfair. Boohoo for me, I did wrong, I got caught, I got punished. Just because others were doing the same and got away with it was immaterial. Any way, I don't have time to discuss, I'm off to shoot my wife through a locked bathroom door.

Your analogy has no relevence, entertaining though as it was!

So yet again no consistency in sentencing for going on to the field of play. One day you can get away scott free, the next your up before a court and your life is ruined. Of course it is easy for the courts to make examples of football fans especially if they are white and from ' working class' backgrounds.

I have since realised what you are getting at and have indeed put 2 and 2 together and made 4! It looks like you and supersteve have some sort of deep lying problem with eachother which doesn't involve me, I can assure you that me and he are not the same person! So hopefully I can be left out of any future squabbles you may have! Once again I apologise for misreading your initial post! Have a great day!

No worries, it's just that "stevieboy" is still trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. He thinks it's still working for some reason.

well at least we will be beating our rivals at something we will be 20 up by the time these court cases are all over EIEIEIO ITS UP THE FOOTBALL BANNING ORDER LEAGUE WE GO.....some people are being banned just for invading the pitch so the the sh*t had 500 disallowed bans, i bet their fuming (not). its clear the courts/police are making an example of Rovers fans, there was no outcry from judges at the time of the derby trouble even though that was far worse and was live on t.v. to the nation, either North Bristol police are far more effective than their South Bristol colleagues or the evening post, police and courts are anti Rovers as they never fail to hi-light punish and publisise all of our trouble and fail to address any of theirs..dogs*it.

Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown is a billionaire with friends/acquaintances in high places with a lot of clout. Of course that has no bearing whatsoever.

I've no problem with the sentencing. The rules are pretty clear. 'STAY OFF THE PITCH!!!' and don't act like a twat. Its not difficult.

I'm not going to comment on the cases arising from the Mansfield game, but concentrate on the general trend. I've previously been critical of policing, sentencing and the inconsistencies throughout, but we have to realize what a condemnation of our support this report makes. Not just the banning orders, but look at p15. It is a badge of shame that Rovers make a quarter of the arrest statistics for the whole of L2 last year. If we are being honest, there has been a noticeable increase in the potential for disorder amongst Rovers fans. As someone brought up on the terraces during the 70s and 80s, this is not new, but it does seem as though we have a large following of middle aged men, like me, that are misjudging the boundary between vocal support for our team and breaking the law. I think some of us need to take a long hard look at ourselves and adjust our behaviour to the right side of this boundary. I certainly will be.
