Just have no excitement for the next rovers game. I found it very hard to get out of bed Saturday morning for Braintree. I used to wake up being excited and with a spring in my step.
Of course I still love the club but if I am honest I just cannot be bothered any more. Even if we win Tuesday i'll find it hard to get excited. " yay we just beat wrexham 1-0 in front of 4,500 fans to go up to 13th in the conference" everything in this league is just piss poor, maybe if and when we get around the play offs it might get a bit exciting but at the moment it's extremely boring and very hard to give a toss!
Not sure if im the only one because im not some sort of super fan or whatever but whenever i think of rovers or even planning to go to a game i just think f**k 'em. Why should i go.
Very very bad time to be a bristol rovers fan.

I still get a buzz from meeting friends and seeing live football. Its at 5/10 o clock that my mood usually changes...

The thing that keeps me going is that one day it HAS to get better and I want to be there when it does.
These lows will make make the highs all the more sweeter when the good times return. Of course there is a chance I am being deluded and they will never return.

I've been rovers since 1973 and when we played at twerton there times when I would drop everything to go and watch games home and away. the 92/93 season me and a mate only missed one game home and away all season and was only because the car broke down on the way to derby And if I missed games I felt I was letting the team down myself , but now my support and enthusiasm has taken a major dip down hill and over the last 5 seasons the destruction of this football club has not helped
Every week the club seems to be hitting all time lows and just like everyone else I can't see where it is going to end hopefully we don't become the next Stockport county
I will always be a gashead but at this moment in time I cannot and will not support this squad this manager and this current board any more , my money and time are better off in my pocket at the moment . I've have fallen out of love with football can't be bothered with the over paid overrated premiership, England are sh"t and the state of things at rovers is just the icing on the cake
And anyone who wants to question my past support can go take a running jump right

Totally agree similar story to mine have lost jobs relationships and even my liberty following the gas just can't be bothered final straw for me was down torquay back in the summer in a bar . A few millwall old boys on a stag do saw my rovers tattoo and one said " hey pal they used to be a proper club " more in pity than anything else other people /fans think we are finished

Bl**dy junior supporter! I still go to as many home games as possible, work permitting and that won't change. Do I like being where we are? Of course not, but it has no effect on my wanting to watch as many games as I can. Plus, I still have a feeling we'll do well this season - don;t ask me why though as I can't put any logic behind it but I still think the team will come good. I guess the Luton fans wanted John Still out after 9 games last season.

Isn't it good we are all different? I would take that scenario any day.
There's only one way we can get ourselves out of our predicament positively....and that's just keep winning so say boring matches!
It's a long trudge, but the next game should be winnable. One win at a time, we can achieve our potential..

Well, maybe I'm just bloodyminded but however much it hurts, however angry I get, however disappointed I am, I'm of the 'have to take my medicine sort'. If I'm not going be part of the solution then it's never going to happen. I'm just going to support 'my' team, I don't own it, I can't make the decisions to change it, I don't have the money to improve it, I can't personally bring back the good times but if I stop, they never will come back. I'm no better than anyone else, I'm no rosetinter, I'm just bloodyminded ....UTG

Folks bang on about 'Ragbag Rovers' & the 'Twerton Spirit' but the position today couldn't be further from those days.

I'll be there, i love Rovers, i think the adversity draws me closer for some reason, and quite simply our club needs us more than ever. I don't blame anyone for not going though, that's their decision and i fully understand why.

I could have just 'liked' this but wanted to say to JTS and any others who are of this mind set, I feel exactly the same. I don't like the adversity, I don't like the feeling in my stomache when we perform poorly, I don't like the fact it's affecting long term supporters who cannot bring themselves to go anymore. Don't accuse me or any others like me of being 'rosetinters' we are mostly definitely not but what we are, are supporters who want better i.e. want the team to play better, want the Board to manage better, want the manager to coach better, want the fans to support even better than they already have, I'm asking a lot I know but...... I'll be there tonight with my three mates from Wales Come on you Blues !!!

Folks bang on about 'Ragbag Rovers' & the 'Twerton Spirit' but the position today couldn't be further from those days. Speaking as someone who was a supporter of the club through the ''Ragbag Rovers'' era, I would have to agree with you, providing that I'm reading your post correctly that is. If you're implying the chalk and cheese scenario, then I would have to agree with you. The only difference was that during that era we were still a member of the Football League, and that is an important fact to remember. We may well have been down on our uppers at the time, but we continued (somehow) to function on a day-to-day basis. That rather hackneyed phrase ''The Dunkirk Spirit'' was quite appropriate at the time. Today we seem to stagger from one disaster to another, travelling more in hope than expectation, and getting precisely nowhere. The club appears to be devoid of any ideas or enthusiasm, and it's the same with the supporters. And broadly speaking, ditto the ''Twerton Spirit'' era which was similar, but quite different to the ''Ragbag'' era. Despite leaving Eastville we were all relatively upbeat, and consequently did some good things at Twerton. The problems of today seem rooted in our return to Bristol from Bath, which to put it kindly it hasn't worked out for us, for whatever reason. We seemed to leave our soul in Bath, instead of taking it with us as we did when we left Eastville. I could well be wrong, but I remember the fans mood being quite upbeat through both of those eras, them against us if you like. We may well have been ''down,'' but we had an awful lot still going for us in adversity, namely fight and determination. That is something that sadly we don't have today, either within the club or outside of it.

As someone who has lived abroad for 6 years now, I agree with a few others on here, the worse things get, the more passionate I am. Not sure whether it is just the feeling that the club now needs the supporters more than ever or the fact that I cannot get to many games. I was back in Bristol for the Halifax game and I absolutely loved going to the game, seeing people who I have that "football relationship" with, (ie don't know their names, jobs, where they come from etc.) a few beers after and meeting more people in know in the bars around the ground.
Not criticising anyone who doesn't go, its just how I feel. I even dragged two of the next generation along, and raided the club shop as well !
IslaPlanaGas (Just for the record 45 years of Rovers, so witnessed leaving Eastville, all of the Twerton years, Hitchin away and many other low points, (or what we thought at the time were low points) !!!!
