Top of the table unbeaten Stockport County host Rovers. Both sides unbeaten both not conceded a goal yet! Another goal less draw I predict.
Not played County for many years and their recent rise from the Conference to League One is quite an achievement.
Saw Rovers win up there I think it was Lee Archer who scored the winner mid 1990s.
Be good to see Kofi Shaw making a start the 17 year old was excellent against Tottenham Hotspur U21s on Tuesday.
Anthony and Forbes deserve a place on the bench. County have recently signed Louie Barry and Ollie Norwood from premier clubs Aston Villa and Sheffield United.

Paul Howard is to take charge of the game at Edgeley Park.
The official has refereed County on three previous occasions, overseeing our 3-0 win at Brackley Town in 2017, a 1-1 draw at home to Mansfield Town in March 2023 and a 2-2 draw away at Aldershot Town in the Emirates FA Cup last December.
He also refereed Bristol Rovers on one occasion last season, put in charge of their 3-1 win away at Cheltenham Town in League One back in April.
In total, Howard took charge of 38 first-team fixtures across all competitions last season, during which time he issued 135 yellow cards, four red cards and awarded four penalties.
He has refereed two games so far this season, most recently overseeing QPR’s 2-1 win away at Cambridge in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The Assistant Referees on Saturday will be Jack Forder-Hay and Niall Felton, whilst Robert Massey-Ellis will be the Fourth Official.

County looked sharp at Blackpool, punishing the slack Tangerines defensive work.I see their manager has been sacked.
We'll need to work extremely hard defensively, with much concentration because County have players that can punish a team.
Hopefully we'll also show more upfront.

Became friends with a family of Stockport County fans many years ago while on holiday in Ibiza. Real down to earth good folk. As a result, I've followed their (mis)fortunes over the years and delighted to see them doing well. Despite being surrounded by numerous high falutin Premiership teams their supporters have stuck with them through thick and thin, admirable stuff. Today, of course, I hope we can give them a football lesson although we'll have to work hard for it and a win may be too big an ask. 1-1 UTG

We have played SCFC 25 times, W11, D5 & L9, Biggest win 4-2, loss 3-1, we last beat them away on 15th August 2009, a 0-2 win within 8 mins. Stockport County were Founded in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they were renamed Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport. The team have played in blue and white kits since 1914; their original colours were red and white. The club is nicknamed "The Hatters" after the town's former hat-making industry. Stockport have played at Edgeley Park since 1902. Celebrity dart player Tony O'Shea is born and bred and lifelong supporter of Stockport County.. The club also has significant local rivalries with Oldham Athletic, Rochdale, Bury, Crewe Alexandra, and Macclesfield Town. According to a survey in 2003, County supporters include more distant clubs Burnley and Stoke City among their main rivals for more historical reasons. The club also has a fierce rivalry with Wrexham, which was intensified during the 2021–22 season as both teams battled for the National League title. Ex-Rovers manager Andrew Wilson also managed Stockport, he also played for Sheffield Wednesday 500 times scoring 200 goals as a centre forward. Present incumbent is Dave Challinor who is 48, played as a centre-back for Stockport, Tranmere and Bury in over 400 games. Stockport County are current leaders in L1 having won both opening games, BRFC are in 10th place. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/43/Stockport_County_FC_logo_2020.svg/180px-Stockport_County_FC_logo_2020.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png

Glad Stockport are back in L1, decent club.
Wasn't our first ever game at the Mem in 1996 against them in a 1-1 draw and we scored and the cross bar was too high and our goal went into the top corner?
Also, didn't we get into the playoffs in L2 in 2007 at their expense? They missed the playoffs instead of us,and then they got relegated and they started to tumble down the leagues.

Also, didn't we get into the playoffs in L2 in 2007 at their expense? They missed the playoffs instead of us,and then they got relegated and they started to tumble down the leagues. As I remember it Ice,County were playing very well and on a good run. Their next game,at the Mem was called off,in slightly suspicious circumstances.A water logged field of play was the reason, although there were rumours of deliberate flooding. Someone forgot to turn a tap off or were there fire engines seen? You see our next game was our 2nd leg of the 3rd and 4th division Cup against City. This after the 0 0 at Ashton Gate. Our fresh legs,on a poor surface and as you know, beat City 1 0.A Mr Lambert hitting an unstoppable shot, that left their "believe" Brazilian GK on his knees,in apparent worship of our Rickie! Oh and in Rickies very excitable celebration and as the Mem went mad, he appeared to be turning into a werewolf!Check his face. Well that's how my failing memory sees it.

Good defending from Mola Louie Barry picks out a cracking pass for Will Collar but Mola stays with the latter and blocks his cross out for a corner. Mola is good!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems we are winning our fair share of heading duals and tackles.Defence doing well and we've managed a chance or two up front.
Hope that has'nt put the mockers on it.
