Some good stuff above. Not had chance to check it all yet. .... There must be something to the tune of 'Kum bay ya', like 'Michael Vaughan, my Lord'?? I remember, briefly, 'Johnny Ward, my Lord', possibly at Cheltenham away Also, bizarrely, 'drinking pints of whisky, with Mark McGhee' to Let it Be by the Beatles

Ole, Ole Ole Ole! Rovers, ROVERS! .......... 'Anderlecht Champion (Allez, Allez, Allez Allez)' - Grand Jojo ..... [via 'E Viva Mexico ('Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé)' - Grand Jojo].
Daa, Duh! Daa, Duh! Daa-duh, Daa-duh, Daa-dada! ... [etc.] ... ROVERS! .......... 'Carnaval de Paris' - Dario G ..... [the chant came before, by FC Utrecht fans, based on 'Oh My Darling, Clementine' (American Folk Song].
Danny, Danny Coles! .......... 'Daddy Cool' - Boney M.
Also realised the 'Barmy Army' chant is based on 'Stingray' by The Routers (see You're gonna get your f****** head kicked in).
I'm sure we've sung things to 'Give It Up' by KC & The Sunshine Band, and 'Don't You Want Me Baby' by The Human League??

That Goodnight Irene find is brilliant. If anyone catches anyone trying to start 'Ten German Bombers In The Air' (to the tune of 'Ten Green Bottles'), can you kindly tap them on the shoulder and mention that the intro Rovers fans created to 'Goodnight Irene' is based on a German song 'Fliege mit mir in die Heimat' (translates as 'Fly Home With Me'), which was adopted by the German Luftwaffe as their song during World War II!!

Can't recall the terrace lyrics but there was one sang to the Mary Hopkins song, "Those were the days my friend".

I remember being in Tote End circa 1984 on an opponent goalie goal kick:
Whoooooooooooooo.....ooooooooo ....oooooooooah! You're sh!t, aggghhhhh!*
Was this from Nellie The Elephant by Toy Dolls?
*Later, at Twerton, it was amended with extra lines: + You suck c0cks aggghhhhh! + You got aids aggghhhhh! + You sh@g sheep aggghhhhh!

Here’s the supposed origin of oggy, oggy, oggy, oi, oi, oi www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question82107.htmlFrom the Cornish mines apparently. I recall it being blasted out by the north stand terrace in 1968 (?) aimed at a black Hartlepool player. Black players were a novelty back then but the W on the oggy still felt crass.

As opposed to Archie Archie Archie (with the synchronisation of hand movements).. Reminds me of the song directed at Ryan Giggs, after news of his affair broke. Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs running down the wing Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs he had a secret fling. He had her up the ******* and now it`s all on Twitter.....

The Cornwall/Devon origin for the chant, from the name for a pasty is very plausible. A call and response when dropping pasties down a mineshaft sounds made up folk etymology though, as the article says and similarly the Wiki page it links to says. Most associated now with Wales, thanks to Max Boyce and Welsh rugby since the 70s, and they seem to think it's theirs! Thankfully I never got to hear the version you mention.

As opposed to Archie Archie Archie (with the synchronisation of hand movements).. Did that Robin Hood tune really get sung for Lee Archer? I only remember the Ar-cher! Ar-cher! to resurrect the Archie Stephen's chant. I do remember the Manchester United fans singing the Robin Hood tune for Ryan Giggs. Didn't realise before now there was a pejorative version, aimed at Giggs by rival fans. p.s. you need 'Lee Archer, Lee Archer...' again to start to the 2nd line, to make it fit.
