Mr Rashford can go back to being a hard Left puppet (because somebody was telling him what to say) and part time with Man Utd. Hit form and England will come calling. As for his politics - if wanting to feed hungry kids and see the end of the need for foodbanks is far left so must a lot of us be, strange you wouldn't want that As for his football - his desire for the game and his form seem to have faded. He needs a new manager or team that can reignite that desire and form. Precisely put

I was almost agreeing with some of your football views and then you go and say something daft like wanting to feed hungry children makes you a ‘hard left puppet.’ Blimey. We had this on the Marcus Rashford thread all those years ago. Sticking to the thread I think he should go but I understand why he isn’t. Score a hat trick in the Cup Final on Saturday or even the winning goal and Southgate may change. Atm it’s still provisional. UTG!

I did'nt actually say that Wareham and Cheshire and apologies for 'going political ' on this section of forum. Of course MR shares a tough background like millions of others and he has done very well, brilliantly. However,i would like to ask the question 'where were the fathers ( I believe his siblings had different fathers ) and why were'nt they providing cash for the kids? Society had to pay for them. His mother, contraception might of been an idea, although she may of just fallen for bad uns. Too many people ( black or white ) 'married' the dole and basically became 'social zombies'. Others, fought hard to improve their situation and worked hard. What's best? So yes,MR did a good thing highlighting his and thousands of other peoples struggle, but let's not just blame the Conservatives, which is exactly what Rashfords puppet masters wanted. Basically do not 'marry the dole'. You have a choice. Genuine sickness is something all together different. Again, apologies, wrong section of forum.

Lots of issues there bas and this is not the place to answer them. Suffice to say hungry children children would not solve those issues. It’s not the children’s’ fault in whatever shape or form and shouldn’t suffer hunger because of what parents did or didn’t do.
And sticking to the thread I can understand why Rashford has been left out for the time being but trying to understand how Maguire can be selected….that I find harder.
UTG!

He needs a new manager or team that can reignite that desire and form. Ah, so it was you pulling his strings! Yes Bas, I have a real passion for helping those in poverty, those on the streets, those thrown out by greedy landlords, those forced onto benefits while working, for the 1.9million children living in relative poverty [HoC figures], for the elderly on trolleys in hospital corridors, etc etc. I'm hoping for a Government that will take us back to 2010..... As for his football, I wish I could sit the lad down and chat through why he thinks his form has fallen off a cliff. Try to analyse whether its physical, mental or emotional. A good manager should be able to do that, and that's what he needs. Someone who can understand his psyche and what motivates him and speak honestly. He may just need a kick up the arse, but it appears to be more than that. I would hate for him to be written off at this age.

No denying some people are struggling for whatever reason and need help Chesh. I was trying to say, albeit in muddled manner,I think the help society gives, some people become 100% reliable on it,when they really would be better off 'having ago' at life. Sick people and NHS shortages are bad of course. As for Rashford,I really don't know.Rudder conked out, concentration and motivation down? A new FC and environment might help, but then again we pack our problems in a suitcase and they tend to follow us about.

And it's been a perfect start to life in charge for Martinez, who came out of qualifying with a flawless record of 10 wins from 10 matches, his team scoring 36 goals and conceding just two in the process. Martinez's 100 per cent record came to an end in his side's last outing as they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat by Slovenia but it was merely a friendly. The 50-year-old has experimented with both three and four at the back but looks more likely to go with the latter in Germany. Martinez has stuck with Cristiano Ronaldo up top as the sole striker for the most part but has tried a front two with Goncalo Ramos on the odd occasion. Who is their star man? i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/06/05/19/85759889-13473929-image-a-6_1717610949295.jpgWhen one of the biggest stars on planet earth is in your team he's always going to be the star man. He may well be past his best just one year shy of 40, but the cameras and headlines still follow Cristiano Ronaldo wherever he goes. The forward still wears the captain's armband and will be arriving in Germany with a point to prove in what will almost certainly be his last major international tournament. The World Cup couldn't have gone much worse for Ronaldo, who saw himself fall out of the starting XI before his side's quarter-final exit and had to watch his great rival Lionel Messi lift the trophy. However, he's bounced back since then in his new surroundings in Saudi Arabia and has shown that while his pace may have waned, his ability to score goals has not. The Al-Nassr man was the top scorer in world football in 2023 and the second highest scorer in qualifying for this tournament with 10 goals in 10 games. He's lifted this trophy once before and with this squad he has a great chance of doing it again.

We're not putting everything on Jude Bellingham - Gareth Southgate..i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/06/01/19/85591825-13483509-Former_England_manager_Fabio_Capello_says_he_would_use_Jude_Bell-a-13_1717267574112.jpgGareth Southgate is excited to welcome Jude Bellingham into the England camp after the midfielder won the Champions League with Real Madrid but said "we are not putting everything on" him. England slumped to a dismal 1-0 defeat against Iceland in their final Euro 2024 warm-up match at Wembley on Friday. Bellingham, 20, is the last player to join up with the 26-man squad having been given extra time off following the Champions League triumph. Asked if Bellingham will help lift the squad, Southgate said: "I'm sure he will but it is not his responsibility to do that. "I'm sure he is [capable of handling the pressure] but we are not putting everything on Jude. We've got a lot of good players and it is a collective thing to go and try to win this tournament. "He is, of course, a player with a fabulous mentality and will have a big impact on the whole group." In his first season in Spain, Bellingham was named La Liga player of the season after scoring 19 times in the league to help Real win the title by 10 points. Despite the defeat against Iceland, Southgate praised two other young players in his squad. Arsenal's Bukayo Saka made a substitute appearance after missing much of England's recent training while Chelsea's Cole Palmer won his fourth cap after a "fabulous" season at Chelsea. "It was also good to get Bukayo on the pitch. He has missed a lot of the training and we needed to see him out there as well." On Palmer he added: "He's had a fabulous season and got himself into a couple of fabulous positions. He probably took a touch too many on both occasions, but the fact is he was in there on both occasions and looked dangerous." England begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia on Sunday, 16 June, in Gelsenkirchen. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/06/01/19/85591703-13483509-Bellingham_scored_23_goals_and_provided_12_assists_in_a_stunning-a-12_1717267574111.jpg
