Its looking really rough, potentially the toughest ever.
Brum with cash. Wrexham with cash. Wycombe with cash. Lincoln with cash. Mansfield
Bolton. I expect barnsley to kick on.
Charlon with a great manager who picked up laat season.
Reading and wigan with no points deductions.
I can see us in a relegation battle with Burton and shrewsbury.

From 2017 to 2023 you could have written Bristol Rovers “ with cash” but that didn’t work out too well because of the way the cash was managed. So it doesn’t necessarily follow that the teams we are competing with will make the most of a financial advantage. The news that Rovers are recruiting a Chief Operating Officer and Club Secretary is encouraging but it would have been better to have done this months ago so they were already in place to help oversee preparations for the upcoming season. And still no Chief Financial Officer ?

Thought you might have mentioned about the Chief Operating Officer and Club Secretary in this thread! gasheads.org/thread/11872/new-posts-rovers-vacanciesHow do you see the roles of COO and CEO working out??

While the CEO sets the company's vision, culture, and brand identity, the COO ensures the practical realization of this vision, fostering a cohesive business culture. Both roles are distinct yet interdependent, contributing significantly to the company's success.(From Google).

As someone who lives in notts I can’t see Mansfield being a club we should be worried about , Lincoln as well, Zulus yes / Bolton Surely we should be playoffs or push for them , upto mt to achieve that , but as I say Mansfields / Lincoln’s are not clubs we should be loosing sleep over Can’t wait for season to start , I’ve a good feeling about it , and beating forest in cup would be good , you’d think they’d win the bloody league not just stayed up , good lads but .

Be interesting to see if some transfer business is done early and we get some decent signings or, as seems to have been the case in all the recent seasons I can remember it's left until late in the day and we have to settle for what's left. The owners comments about the budget suggest that there won't be that much money available, but I might be completely wrong. The thing he said about it not being "who" you recruit but "how" made me laugh as while this is probably correct as a statement you need some kind of scouting network to identify players at lower levels that might be good prospects, which I'm pretty sure we don't have do we??

A smaller squad may leave some cash for a couple more Conteh types.🤞

He's not he's now Head of Recruitment. no idea what he's done to justify getting that role nor who's now covering his old Chief Scout role.

Perhaps we no longer have a Head Scout Role or scouts in general!. We may be relying on Messrs Spendlove & Friend to identify potential targets - that’s my guess!.

Mr mediocre with all of his talk of moving quickly to tie down signings early is certainly not providing me with any sort of confidence whatsoever. Apparently with the focus on youth supposedly the aim we’ve failed to sign a crocked player and are interested in another 33 year old ex s**t head. Sercombe and Bodin would be far more acceptable if we are looking for that sort of experience. Perhaps they may even consider returning provided mr mediocre guarantees that the reason we’re in the bottom four at the beginning of October is not the fault of ‘clueless players’ we desperately need to offload, not that Sercombe nor Bodin could be labelled as such. You never know though we may just stay up on goals scored,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣⚠️

Just for the record Sercombe will be joining 5th tier Forest Green Rovers at the end of June.

Just for the record Sercombe will be joining 5th tier Forest Green Rovers at the end of June. I didn’t know about Sercombe joining them Bas. I’m very concerned indeed Bas, the only experience in football I’ve had with ‘business’ men with grandiose ideas about milking/building houses on training pitches or big investments came with my final few months of looking after the vital football website for the now defunct Hereford United. Of course you should recognise who I am from pre Knobrot times when I made no bones about supporting Rovers first and the real ‘Bulls’ second after living in Hereford in the late 60’s. Business men never risk anything while they are speculating on turning a profit or even a quick buck without the knowledge they can liquidate all assets available to recover losses. Barton was too strong for this current crew and the collapse of the season and worse the public humiliation of players by an already failed and failing manager speaks volumes for me. The JCH bollocks and the excuses for that ring like the ‘ cheque in the post’ canard and I’m surprised that was swallowed in the manner it was by the majority of the gas, including myself, that stayed up half the night waiting for the confirmation. I remember one of my bosses once demanding that in his terms ‘don’t tell me, show me’ that shattered my efforts to bulls**t him over a mediocre sales performance. So my response to the current situation is along the same lines, don’t tell us, show us, because we ain’t fricking mushrooms that can be kept in the dark and fed s**t.

Joined the RAF Boy Entrants at Hereford at the age of 16 in 1962.Watched Hereford at Edgar Street when John Charles was player manager.Recall the terraces being old railway sleepers. When I came home to watch the Gas that wasn't allowed so my bed ,lockers etc were hidden in the store room so at the 9.30 pm orderly Corporal bed check, didn't realise I wasn't back!!!!!! Ronnie Radford too a bit later.

Ronnie Radford too a bit later. Wow, we lived there from early ‘68’ to October ‘70’. Not much changed really around terracing etc, the old Edgar street stand was demolished with the old Merton meadow side having the railway sleepers. John Charles, crikey what a monster of a man but as gentle as a kitten. A lot of Rovers connections with Hereford over the years. I often think back to players of that time that were similar at both clubs. Bobby Jones had returned from Northampton I think and Hereford had their version with Albert Derrick. Poor old ‘Charlo’ though had the shock of his life when in 1971 we turned up at his sports shop in the next village here in Cardiff called Rhiwbina immediately recognised me and my brothers who he’d had murder with both with a bit of coaching us at Tupsley youth club and his first comment being ‘ hello boys there’s no bog wall to climb over to get into this shop!’. I haven’t watched the current version of Hereford and never will. The real Hereford was put to the sword brutally and frankly the current lot were fortunate that Edgar Street is council owned or they would never have been able to reform to any real extent.

They had a brief fling in LI.Saw them beat Shrewsbury but with so many loanees they soon fell by the wayside. When I reffed there once ,John Sillett who not long previously had won the FA Cup with Coventry was their manager.
