I’d also draw your attention to labour ( your party ) who are now saying we under stand that migration is of concern to the majority of people in this country , that’s why keir wants to slash migration to this country , & make it British jobs for British people !!! But still Starmer doesn't say HOW he's going to slash immigration numbers. Setting up another Border Farce isn't going to do it. I know nobby , it was a example to oldie who’s trying to imply we’re the odd ones out in this country , if we were then labour wouldn’t even be mentioning migration Starmer said any immigration laws are racist , those were his words , a presenter put to him how can a man who was for fom , said any immigration laws are racist suddenly change to British jobs for British people , immigration is far to high I will slash it ? No answer , just a load of babble about the tories have failed What will he actually do , nothing , he will do nothing but like the tories blame it on everyone else

Stopping the money hand outs may just slow the tide... Perhaps Starmer might be able to push that into the" must do" column....he opened the bank to these " immigrants" see if he can shut the account. Is there any evidence for any of that? Did he( Starmer) not argue for the case to assist, monetarily in the courts and WIN said case that immigrants arriving into this country will get cash assistance from the government?

ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/3AF7/production/_133359051_starmerspeech-livehero-pa.jpgSir Keir Starmer says Britain would be "fit to fight" under Labour as he outlines the party's defence plans during a campaign visit to meet veterans. He reaffirms Labour's commitment to a "nuclear deterrent triple lock", which would include the building of four new nuclear submarines. We're now hearing from Labour leader Keir Starmer. He starts by noting this week marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and pays tribute to the bravery of soldiers involved. "This week and every week, we will remember them," he says, adding "we can honour their sacrifice with our decisions today." "Sadly the world we live in today is perhaps more dangerous and volatile than at any time since then," he says, adding "the post-war era is over and a new age of insecurity has begun." He says national security is the "most important issue of our times". Starmer tells his audience that with "my changed Labour party, national security will always come first". Starmer says Britain is "less safe and less secure", arguing that "we have the smallest army since the time of Napoleon". He talks about how Labour is "totally committed" to national security and that "we have to be fit to fight". He then emphasises the importance of the country's nuclear deterrent, saying it is "the foundation of any plan to keep Britain safe. "It is essential." He refers to his party's commitment to the new triple lock nuclear deterrent, saying Labour will deliver all the needed upgrades and build four new nuclear submarines. The plan "won't just keep us safe", Starmer says, it will also support good jobs and growth, adding that within the first year of a Labour government, the party will carry out a new defence review. He tells attendees that he is "absolutely committed" to rebuilding relationships with allies. He cites a security conference he attended in Munich in February where he met a number of world leaders and pledged to them that with a Labour government, the UK would be a point of stability in a chaotic world. He underlines that this is not a party political issue, but a national issue - adding that Labour will always "put out country first". ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/3/ff7deb69-19b7-486f-9247-ac67b665cc6a.jpgStarmer is now taking questions from the media.First up is the BBC's Chris Mason. He asks if the Labour leader would authorise nuclear weapons if circumstances necessitated it, and if Labour has really "changed its spots", saying current frontbenchers voted against the UK's nuclear weapons just eight years ago. Starmer says the nuclear deterrent is "fundamental" and "a vital part of our defence". "Of course that means we have to be prepared to use it," he says, adding it would be irresponsible to set out the circumstances under which it would be used. On the second question, Starmer says: "This is a changed Labour Party and the most important thing is that I voted in favour of the nuclear deterrent." He says his commitment to it is "absolute". Starmer is pressed again on David Lammy and Angela Rayner voting in parliament in 2016 against the nuclear deterrent - at the time, Lammy cited his Christian faith when explaining why he voted against it. The Labour leader is asked whether he spoke to them about their stance. "I lead this party, I have change this party", he says, adding that if Labour does come into power he would be the prime minister. He adds that he has the whole shadow cabinet behind him on this. "I lead from the front, I have always led from the front and this is an issue I feel very strongly about," Starmer adds, repeating that he voted in favour of the deterrent. Starmer is now asked by a Sky journalist if he believes in a "moral case" for the stopping of arms sales to Israel. He replies by saying that the scenes in Gaza are "horrifying", particularly in Rafah. The number one priority is for a ceasefire, he says, something his party has been asking for for months. Starmer says aid is desperately needed and there needs to be the beginning of a political process that leads to a two-state solution which recognises Palestine alongside a safe and secure Israel. He adds that Labour want to work with allies and that the Rafah offensive should not go ahead. The UK should follow the US and review weapons licences to see if any armaments are being used in Rafah, Starmer says.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/D2F6/production/_133360045_farage-her3-pa-nc.pngRichard Tice says he has invited Nigel Farage to be leader of Reform UK, to which he says Farage has accepted.Nigel Farage confirms he'll stand in the election for Clacton. "I have decided, I've changed my mind, it's allowed you know," he says. Farage says "something fundamentally wrong" in politics at the moment. The centre of gravity in political debates has "moved to the left" since David Cameron took over as prime minister in 2010, he says, adding that he believes the "political class is more detached" from ordinary voters. And he believes this upcoming "election is over", "Labour has won", he says, and the number of seats the Conservatives get is "irrelevant". "Nothing will change, things might get slightly worse". Continuing, Nigel Farage says the Conservative government has allowed 2.4m people to come and settle in the UK over the last two years. He adds that this is a betrayal of the millions of people who voted for Brexit and that the "population explosion" has devalued the lives of Britons. The candidates announced as standing so far in Clacton are:Matthew Bensilum, Liberal Democrats Nigel Farage, Reform UK Natasha Osben, Green Party Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, Labour Party Giles Watling, Conservative Party ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/3/541ed4af-2792-4163-8ed9-1223cc357ea3.jpg

Nigel Farage was questioned tonight about Reform's manifesto and policies for the upcoming election.. Question 1. So Nige, What's your plan to lower State borrowing
Nigel: "We are going to cut immigration"
Question 2. Nige, there are upwards of 121,000 vacancies in the NHS and 152,000 in social care. How do you plan to address that
Nigel: "We are going to cut immigration."
Question 3. Nige, there over 7M on the NHS waiting lists, how do you plan to address that?"
Nigel: "We are going to cut immigration"
Question 4. Nige, do you believe that the biggest issue in the UK is people with dark tinted skin and who choose their own version of a ridiculous concept?
Nigel: "Yes"
And finally "Nige, do you accept that 2+2=4?"
Nigel: No I do not. That is a ridiculous and typical lefty woke concept put about by metropolitan elites to belittle my supporters who in the main possess a limited vocabulary and even lower numerical ability"
"To counter this narrative we will reduce immigration"
Reform is projected to achieve 15% of the national vote.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/DF76/production/_133360275_farage-hero-epa-nc.pngFarage is simply handing Starmer a blank cheque to rejoin EU, say Tories. We're now getting some reaction from the Conservatives on the news that Nigel Farage will stand in the general election with a party spokesman saying that Farage is "doing exactly what Keir Starmer wants him to do". "Nigel Farage risks handing Keir Starmer a blank cheque to re-join the EU, impose the retirement tax on pensioners and hike taxes on hardworking Brits up and down the UK," a Tory party spokesman says. "Farage knows that Reform won't win any seats, but he doesn't seem to care that a vote for Reform only helps Labour." The spokesman adds that: "Just yesterday, EU insiders openly voiced their expectation that Starmer would seek a softer Brexit deal, opening the door to re-joining the EU all together. That would mean uncontrolled immigration and betraying the will of the British people." "Is Farage really willing to risk undoing his life's work by handing Starmer a blank cheque to re-join the EU?," the spokesman continues. "Only a vote for Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives can deliver a clear plan, bold action and a secure future for our country." ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/3/2d594005-63f6-465e-b1a3-89e9785a3788.jpgNigel Farage is one of the biggest names in British politics, despite never being an MP. Famously, he has failed seven times to get elected to a Westminster seat. He now claims his first six attempts were not serious, just efforts to gain publicity for his then-party, UKIP. He blames his defeat in the 2015 general election in South Thanet, when he did mount a serious campaign, on Conservative foul play. In 2019 a Tory Party employee was found guilty of falsifying election expenses, although the area’s Tory MP Craig Mackinlay was cleared. After that, Farage swore never to stand again in a first-past-the-post election, which are harsh on small, insurgent parties. UKIP owed much of its success to the European Parliament, which uses a form of proportional representation. But Farage is a serial retirer. He has quit frontline politics several times during his long career with UKIP, the Brexit Party and Reform UK. He often seems to enjoy being on TV more than the grind of party politics, but something keeps pulling him back to the ballot box. Maybe it will be eighth time lucky for him in Clacton. Chris Mason, Political editor.Nigel Farage is a master of political theatre. A week ago he told me he wouldn’t stand for parliament this time – his gaze already apparently wandering over the Atlantic towards the presidential election this autumn. Now, hey presto, he will stand – and, there was more. Taking over the leadership of Reform UK not only illustrates again Farage’s knack for generating news – but will offer him a platform and profile in the coming weeks his honorific presidency of the party would not have afforded. In other words, he’s managed, yet again to be just where he loves to be: centre stage. It’s the of kind of news nightmares are made of for the Conservatives; this tormentor of the Tories – once one himself – relaxed, jocular and devilish as he makes them squirm. Conservatives fear many of their recent voters are being lured by Reform; Rishi Sunak will fear Farage will enhance its magnetism. As if the prime minister didn’t have enough to worry about already. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/6/3/a0c15f65-54a5-4608-9ae9-462877ba6fc6.jpgThe BBC's Lucy Manning has doorstepped Nigel Farage as he is on his way to his news conference."Are you standing?", she asks him. "Well, we’ll find out in a moment," Farage replies. Lucy Manning asks him why he has changed his mind. "Who says I have?" is the reply. "You said ten days ago you wouldn’t stand." "Do you ever change your mind?" Farage responds.
