Nope, and if you watch her interviews with the likes of Boris Johnson you'll spot a different tone. She's no Nick Robinson (her predecessor) and he was a paid up member and activist of the Conservative Party. You're a James O'Brien fan Balders? Your Laura point is fair and well made, but everyone knows of the Woke BBC. I don't suppose you watched the Lee Anderson speech, excellent stuff. Don't listen to either O'Brien or Anderson. Examples of woke?

Nigel Farage makes claim about Reform UK's General Election chances..By Dave Burke, Political Correspondent
Nigel Farage said 'the opportunity is there' and said the party has 'come of age' following a crisis-plagued General Election campaign this summeri2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33717540.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_BRITAIN-POLITICS-REFORM-UK.jpgNigel Farage insisted that Reform UK could win a General Election as he claimed his party has "come of age". The former Ukip leader claimed "the opportunity is there" to trounce the Tories and Labour in five years' time. He vowed to make the party more professional after it was hampered by a series of embarrassments over the summer. Speaking in front of 4,000 cheering supporters at the Reform conference in Birmingham, chairman Zia Yusuf claimed Mr Farage could one day become PM. Mr Farage said: "But I don't think there's ever been a time when there is greater disenchantment in the two big parties that have dominated our political life for the last 100 years. Labour have not won through there. The opportunity is there." He pledged to root out extremists after admitting that the party's vetting wasn't up to scratch. He said: "We had the teenage tantrums, which caused us the most problems in the general election. "But we're now at a different point. The party is an adult. And this weekend Reform UK comes of age." The comments came on a madcap day which also saw loudmouth Lee Anderson rip up a TV licence reminder as he was cheered on by supporters. Bizarrely, Mr Anderson added: "The greatest achievement during my political career was in 2022. I was voted the worst man in Britain by The Daily Mirror." With so many people so pi$$ed off with the tories and now labour Reform could gain support,I think that they have to start at the local level getting involved in local issues (the boring stuff) and gradually getting people to get used to voting for a party outside of the Lib/Lab/Con traditional mobs. I am not sure that they are the ideal party for me but I will vote for them as its a vote against Lib/lab/Con plus every 100 votes for them sends a lefty into cardiac arrest

Lineker is one person and his posts are not on BBC business. That was decided some time ago. As for the rest, it's been like that for years and not just the BBC. Not sure I'd class it as woke and there are many other 'faithful' productions to balance it, if it bothers you.

There were less than one black person at Hastings. π "Faithful productions". Meaning factual history perhaps?

Does anyone give a toss?

Telegraph stating people are not going to be happy as white actor cast as 'dark-skinned' Heathcliffe in a new version of Wuthering Heights! Sorry, full story behind a paywall so not sure who is complaining. Glad they are keeping us up to date with these key stories, with all that's going on in the world...

Sorry, full story behind a paywall so not sure who is complaining. Glad they are keeping us up to date with these key stories, with all that's going on in the world... The 'wokerati' I suspect. Took this from elsewhere: "Heathcliff in the original Emily BrontΓ« book likely isn't white. He's a foundling who is described early in the novel as "a dark-skinned gipsy," with Mr. Linton saying that he is "a little Lascar, or an American or Spanish castaway." Later it is suggested that when Heathcliff prayed to God he was instead met "with his own black father." " The point is that Heathcliff faced racism in the book so his ethnicity is central to the character. Bas, Nobby? Any thoughts?
