Upon his return to the US, he found some success playing those songs around Minneapolis - but it was only when he donned a mask and hid his face that his career really took off. Kate Garraway today revealed that her husband Derek Draper has died aged 56 and told how she held his hand 'throughout the last long hours and when he passed'. The Good Morning Britain star, 56, announced the death of her husband of 18 years on Instagram this morning and said: 'Rest gently and peacefully now Derek, my love, I was so lucky to have you in my life.' Derek suffered a heart attack before Christmas following a long battle with Covid. Mr Draper was a former researcher for Blairite Peter Mandelson who became a New Labour spin doctor and later retrained as a psychotherapist after a series of political and lobbying scandals. Former prime minister Gordon Brown led tributes today. Mr Brown tweeted: 'So sad that after such a brave struggle Derek Draper has lost his life as a result of Covid. I will remember him as brilliant, creative and multitalented, and our thoughts are with Kate, Darcey and Billy. RIP Derek'. Sir Tony Blair said: 'I am so sad to hear the news about Derek. "We were all very, very proud of him for everything he has achieved and done, and we've been to some amazing places due to his accolades." Born in Richmond, Surrey, Sir Roy was educated at Lancing College before having his medical training at Guys Hospital in London. He was the first to use drugs to help stop the rejection of donated organs and this led to a major expansion of organ grafting worldwide. Sir Roy's work saw him elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1974 and knighted in 1986. He collected numerous accolades including the Pride of Britain award for lifetime achievement in 2014.

The former London Welsh, Bridgend and Barbarians full-back was synonymous with Wales and the Lions' glories of the 1970s. Williams captained Wales and Bridgend, winning 55 caps for his country. During historic triumphant Lions tours to New Zealand in 1971 and 1974 in South Africa, Williams accumulated eight Test caps. A statement from the Williams family said: "JPR died peacefully today at the University Hospital of Wales surrounded by his loving wife and four children, after a short illness, bravely battling bacterial meningitis. Former Chelsea forward Tommy Baldwin has died aged 78 following a long illness. Baldwin began his career at Arsenal, moving to Stamford Bridge in 1966 in a part-exchange for George Graham. He scored 92 goals in 239 appearances and was a key player in the first Chelsea side to win the FA Cup in 1970. The following season, he helped the club lift a first European trophy as they beat Real Madrid after a replay in the Cup Winners' Cup final in Greece. Baldwin also played in the 1967 FA Cup final and 1972 League Cup final defeats by Tottenham and Stoke. He left Chelsea in the mid-1970s, becoming one of a host of players from England to feature in the high-profile North American Soccer League.
