Think he is well within the bounds of decency to respond as he did. To give him any abuse over the death of his dad is beyond the pale so any club that does this deserves all they get back in return. As fans I think we have to be big enough to expect and accept some back if we dish it out. Definitely a line though as to what is acceptable or not and it is a hard line to draw. Death or injury/illness of a loved one is definitely the wrong side for me Yes, there is a line somewhere there isn’t there. I think all clubs have that stupid/sick/unacceptable minority and of course as in any sphere if you give it out then you must be able to accept it back. I think your line is about right. And amongst all this I bet Argyle, and any club come to that, would have known that JS would come in for stick and that his father’s death may come up as an issue. Yet nothing has been done (to my knowledge, perhaps it has….) and until clubs with their stewards and CCTV use it to identify this very small minority I think the problem will persist. I’d say the crowd should call out these sick people but I don’t think they will through fear of what might happen. And the quality of some stewards is poor and they may just ignore what is reported. UTG!
