It'll be interesting to see who they eventually appoint... if you think this is exciting, imagine Ancient Rome hailing a new Emperor. How would you know? You were a King of Rome and that pre-dates the Republic and subsequent Roman Emperors.

if you think this is exciting, imagine Ancient Rome hailing a new Emperor. How would you know? You were a King of Rome and that pre-dates the Republic and subsequent Roman Emperors. And the difference between King and Emperor of Rome is? š What other fancy snippets have I for you? Ah yes. Did you know Tsar (also spelled czar, tzar, or csar) is a title used to designate certain monarchs or supreme rulers. The first ruler to adopt the title tsar was Simeon I of Bulgaria. it is derived from Caesar, meant emperor in the European medieval sense of the term, that is, a ruler who claims the same rank as a Roman emperor, with the approval of another emperor or a supreme ecclesiastical official (the Pope or the Ecumenical Patriarch). Kaiser from Latin Caesar, from the cognomen of Gaius Julius Caesar (100-44 bc), Roman general, statesman, and historian] Any of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire (962-1806), of Austria (1806-1918), or of Germany (1871-1918). But. The original meaning of Caesar is from caesaries, 'hair', because the founder of this branch of the family was born with a full head of hair. In Roman naming practice, a newborn child was given three names (tria nomina). The praenomen was a name like Lucius or Marcus. The second name was the name of the tribe, clan, or gens, such as the Julii or Cornelii. The third name was the cognomen, a nickname that distinguished one branch of a gens from another. Sometimes an adult would adopt a fourth name called an agnomen. This was a nickname he had earned himself. Hail Caesar means Hail Hair. Hail the Kaiser means Hail Herr Hair. Although Caesar means hair, Julius, how the Godās larfed, was bald. It got worse for him, although he refused to wear an old crown like mine, he was still assassinated by republicans fearing Kings could return, due to so much power he now had after defeat of Pompey. See how badly I trashed the idea of Emperors? Infamy, infamy, they still had it infamy. Roman King, Roman Emperor, exactly the same thing.

Danny Cowley left Portsmouth in January
Bradford City will not be appointing Danny Cowley as their new manager after he changed his mind about taking over the League Two club. The former Lincoln and Portsmouth boss had agreed terms at the start of the week but had a change of heart because of family reasons. Danny Cowley, who had a spell in charge of Huddersfield in 2020-21, led Lincoln City from the National League to League One in his three years in charge of the Imps.

Thatās a bit of a stretch āsuperbus. A tad unfair even. Whatās the source of that rumour. My take on it, straight from the horses mouth so to say, is that he wanted to be more playing and coaching than managing. Esp playing for Wales and gaining international honours. Managing Rovers at that time must have been hard with the limited resources available.Ā But seriously, whatās the source for that? UTG! source was a live radio interview a former long serving rovers kit man gave me in 1990, and as he said it I thought of Steve White substituted and throwing his shirt at the feet of the managers and storming up the tunnel. Ā Though itās also true that, as hurtling towards bankruptcy, the club sold the players pulling the rug from under David and Wayne. Ā Ā Another juicy tit bit from the same interview, Clive Thomas asked the kit man if he could find some Vaseline as he had forgotten his. Kit man asked in rovers changing room and a player handed his jar over. When it came back with the news the ref had used it to smear all his testicles and groin, rovers player threw the jar out the window and it went into the river.Ā I really liked David Williams - both as a manager and even more so as a player. Thought he left us to further playing ambitions for his country. Should have had many more international caps than he did imho and he was never going to get them with us but would with Norwich. Never got the impression that he did not want to manage again and wished weād approached him again to manage us after his playing days ended. My abiding memory of his time as a manager was that we played really exciting football especially at home where we battered sides regularly but that we were not anywhere near as good on the road. He managed us in the days before play offs. Iām convinced had they been around then he would have got us promoted. In my top 5 all time player list

This is the history I'm here for. I forget which one, but in a medieval Kaiserpfalz (large fortified Manor House type thing) in the Harz Mountains in German region of Saxony, there is a eighty odd metre long tapestry telling the story of the ācareerā of a medieval Holy Roman Emperor. This amazing work of art was itself ātranslatedā into a prose poem called, rather self explanatory, Tapestry (of a Prince of Peace). Iāve posted into the music and lyrics section, as the nearest relevant place I could think of, to link to it here. gasheads.org/thread/11566/tapestry-prince-peace

I won't go if it's robinson, he's an absolute tool. I can't think of a football manager I dislike more.
Pretty certain he had an affair with someone in ox's ladys team, as a married man and there are a few other issues that I don't think I should address on here.
Harris or monk, I wouldnt be unhappy with either.

Are we really looking to pinch the Oxford manager from under their noses?

Not sure what all the fuss is about, Mangan is a shoe in for the managers job. He has the perfect cv for a Rovers manager under this lot, Ā£2000.00 fine for match fixing and a ban to go with it along with according to those on the other forum, nothing other than a complete p--s artist. Add the recent appointment of Bond to the coaching staff and once again the Al Saeeds have handed back control of the football side of the business to someone who has shafted it big time for the past three years.

U.S officials once entertained the prospect of Saddamism without Saddam after the former Iraqi became persona non grata. It sounds like our board are willing to entertain the prospect of Bartonism without Barton, which is strange to say the least. After the game against Whitby, Mangan and the rest of the Barton gang, including the colonel if he is still around, should be disposed of fairly quickly. Barton was the reason they were here, and Barton is the reason they have to be moved on. The new owner has already made it clear that the club staff should not independent of the manager, so I expect this to happen fairly soon. Harris may have an advantage over Monk having won promotion from this division.

I just hope you are right. Now is the time for a complete reset. The club has been trashed for the last three years by a kid who keeps remodeling his train set and it still doesn't work properly.

I'd like to see Tony Pulis come in whilst we retain the back room staff. He has leadership qualities, has a long history in the game, ticks the 'one of us' box and is not with any other team.
