It takes a long time to clear out toxic waste, let's hope the delay in announcing a new manager was down to that.

Who’s going to boycott now Rishi Sunak has swapped politics for the managers job at Bristol Rovers? Personally I say, give him a chance. A lot of our best manager appointments seemed underwhelming at first, and vice versa. Rishi is likely well connected, the black book of contacts very important to any manager. He’s a bit of a celebrity, so the media interest will put us on the map in just the same way as the celebrity of Joey helped our national and wider profile. Remember the post: put Joey and Wael’s Twitter followers together and it now makes us bigger than Bristol City. City fans must hate us for bringing in these high profile managers. How long should we give Sunak, till the end of the season at least? To be fair that’s only one transfer window if he feels he needs to shuffle the pack a bit. I’m okay with this appointment now it’s made, and pleased it is not Taylor - I can’t understand why anyone wanted Taylor to get it, his CV is empty, he’s achieved or proved nothing anywhere. Someone’s lost their marbles.  It`s all Greek to me. |

Guess we’ll know at that time if this is true or not. |

If true - a clear statement from the new owner that the appointment of the scouse thug and his gang was a total and utter failure. As predicted. By some. But if a ‘new’ manager is coming in then it might be best that none of JBs mates are here. No need for a second episode of Penny/Campbell etc. The word hijack was used and now it’s been overused. Just let’s make sure that staff employed by the club are club staff not mates of a highly divisive manager, no matter how good he may be. UTG! |

'Hijack' implies that it didn't have any agency in the matter, whereas it effectively gave them the keys, metaphorically reserved half the car park for them, and freed up the bank account. No-one was standing over them with a musket and wearing a cloak and tricorn hat. It was thought to be 'a good thing' despite multiple and recurring indicators to the opposite. That's the worry. The good news is that Hussain AlSaeed identified and called it out. |

The good news is that Hussain AlSaeed identified and called it out. I think you are giving the new owners a bit too credit. This was their first big test, and to my mind they have failed. We should not be heading into a second round FA cup game, with the possibility of a game against the S*it or a PL club with Joey's mate in charge, having made it clear that he will not be sticking around long-term. They have had an international break and a FA cup first round game against a non-league side to get this sorted. We hardly know anything about the new owners or Hussain Al-Saeed, and for all we know Wael may have handed the club over to a bunch of incompetents or people who want to bleed the club dry. At least with Higgs we knew it was the former. |

And today his spokesman has said he thinks Hussain Al-Saeed is incompetent. Which is a bit rich coming from someone who championed incompetence for seven years. |
