I can see Hezbollah taking some horrific revenge, dropping a jerrycan of Sarin into the Israeli water supply or a poison gas attack.

Exploding walkie-talkies kill nine and injure at least 300 in new attacks across Lebanon..by Sam Hancock and Jacqueline Howardichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/1024/cpsprodpb/229a/live/1d9fd150-75dd-11ef-b282-4535eb84fe4b.jpgExploding walkie-talkies have killed nine and injured at least 300 people across Lebanon, the country's health ministry says The blasts come a day after exploding pagers killed 12 people, including two children, and left almost 3,000 in hospital Multiple sources say Mossad, the Israeli spy agency, was targeting Hezbollah fighters in Tuesday's explosions - Israel declined to comment However, Israel's defence minister says they are "opening a new phase in the war", and the "centre of gravity is shifting to the north" Hezbollah used pagers after banning mobile phones earlier this year, saying they were too easy to track Who knew? It's been all over the news across all outlets...where is the underpinning opinion to justify duplication on here? Without comment? Les, it's you again, with the usual nondescript, banal and quite frankly devoid of any originality remark, Les you will never learn... Les, my very good friend, the raising of that blood pressure by getting all het up is not good for a 72 year-old man like your good self.. Les, i am looking forward to some milk and cookies with Zulu poised and ready to play, nighty night Les...

I`m surprised Jeremy Corbyn hasn`t been carted off to hospital, with hand and facial injuries.

Maybe time for a Lebanese rethink? You don`t read about Egyptians being blown up by their microwaves. Or Jordanians being blown up by their pop up toasters. Make nice with Israel. In Egypt their own government locks them up and "disappears" them. In Jordan "The government has restricted the freedom of peaceful assembly and association through overly restrictive laws on civil society organizations and non governmental organizations. Jordan has seen extensive gender-based violence, including domestic violence, sexual violence, and other harmful practices." With governments like that no time to worry about Israel, even though they, the Israelis, killed another kid in Lebanon yesterday Unlike Iran? They must have got such practices down down to a fine art, as they do seem have time on their hands to "worry" about Israel. Great shame.

You specifically mentioned Jordan and Egypt originally which is why I highlighted the conditions there. Iran? People there have far more things to worry about. Terrible inflation, chronic lack of critical products because of American imposed sanctions, a despotic, Theocratic government propped up by an insane group of thugs in the Revolutionary Guard who might beat you up, imprison you or indeed shoot you for not wearing a scarf. Just think, what Iran might of been if we, the UK and the CIA had not engineered a coup there in 1952. Just 4 years after we engineered the disaster in Palestine. ......

Lebanon reels from two days of device attacks as Israel declares 'new phase' in war..Edited by Owen Amos, with Hugo Bachega reporting from Beirutichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/1024/cpsprodpb/a943/live/c11b1180-7607-11ef-b282-4535eb84fe4b.jpgLebanon is on edge after thousands of electronic devices exploded across two days "We don’t know if we can stay next to our laptops, our phones," a Lebanese woman tells the BBC On Tuesday, thousands of pagers exploded, before hundreds of walkie-talkies did the same on Wednesday - multiple sources say Israel's Mossad spy agency was targeting Hezbollah members The walkie-talkie blasts killed 20 and injured at least 450; the pager explosions killed 12 and injured more than 2,000 Israel has not commented on the blasts, but on Wednesday, Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant announced "a new phase in the war" Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is due to give a televised speech later As hundreds of walkie-talkies exploded across Lebanon yesterday, attention turned to the devices themselves - and how they exploded. The Japanese firm which apparently makes them says production on that model stopped 10 years ago. Icom describes the IC-V82 as a handheld radio which was exported to the Middle East from 2004 to 2014 and has not been shipped since then. The manufacturing of the batteries has also stopped, it says. The company says it isn't possible to confirm whether the IC-V82s that exploded in yesterday's attacks were shipped directly from Icom, or via a distributor. But the models may not even be from Icom. Earlier, a sales executive at the US subsidiary of Icom told AP the devices that exploded in Lebanon appeared to be a knock-off product – adding it was easy to find counterfeit versions of the product online.

Absolutely no issue supporting democracy in Israel. But not blindly and not support any government, democratically elected or not, that stands by whilst it's citizens break the law at the cost to a particular section of the population. 1948 not withstanding, something that cannot be undone. Perhaps recognising it might lower the temperature? Who knows.

Because it's always someone else's fault isn't it ! Terrible inflation and chronic lack of products because of sanctions. Sanctions imposed because Iran promotes terrorism around the globe. Well, stop the terrorism, the sanctions get lifted and Iran and the rest of the world would be a better place. Pretty simple eh! This chronic lack of products doesn't seem to stop them producing missiles, explosives and drones to export to Russia, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthies, just to name a few.

To be fair, it is partly our fault, Nobby. If the CIA and MI6 hadn`t organised the overthrow of Mohammed, and then supported the accession of his great aunt`s second cousin`s brother in law, in the vacuum that followed, then Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt wouldn`t have felt the need to invade the modern state of Israel, fourteen hundred years later. The newly founded Israeli state wouldn`t then have been compelled to take on those five invading armies, and fight them all to a standstill. They wouldn`t then have found themselves in control of far more territory than the UN had envisaged, just the previous year. And they wouldn`t then have been in a position to refuse to hand back that territory on the ( somewhat understandable ) grounds that the land would be used to attack them. Again. Here they stand, they can do no other.

This is the very point you miss Alf. If you asked the general public of Iran they would not be so concerned about Israel itself. However, like some of us in the UK, they might well be concerned by the plight of the Palestinians. But that is a normal human reaction. No, the portrayal of the Iranian people in the western media is actually a portrayal of the fruit cakes in their enforced government. Not the people themselves Shall I give you some numbers? Before the Shah was desposed(the one we imposed upon them in 1952) over a 72 hour period his troops slaughtered upto 10,000 people in Tehran to try and suppress the uprising. After Khomeini came to power he killed upto 50,000 people who were deemed a threat to a Theocratic state. I personally know many Iranians who believe that Khomeini was allowed to get away with it because the "West" preferred an Islamic State to one of a left leaning "friendly to Russia" state. Emmmm

All quite James Bond-esque this page and walkie-talkie attacks.
Awful that civilians have been killed ( understatement ),but some Hezbollah scum got caught too.
Clever stuff from the Israelis.

Emmmm So, are the people of Iran just going to accept that they have to keep living under a succession of autocratic regimes, because of a decision that was made nearly three quarters of a century ago? If the Shah`s regime was so awful, why replace it with something ( in my opinion ) worse? Swap Savak for the morality police. You don`t paint a particularly inspiring picture of the Iranian people. The "West" preferred Iran`s monarch to it`s Prime Minister, so they went along with that. Then, because the "West" prefers a fundamental Islamic State to a left leaning one, they go along with that too. Possibly time for the ordinary Iranian people to put what the "West" prefers to one side, and come up with a system of government that`s more acceptable to the majority of them?
