A planning officer said that as they’d already granted permission for a much larger development, they couldn’t really turn this one down (or words to that effect). To me this indicates that Rovers were made aware of this and took the chance to start building early on in the season.

Think you will find that the "white" is the base area for more blue seating ...we will see who is " blind" ...as they say " watch that space"

Were I to build a Rovers stadium, it would be entirely black, with the usual yellow rails and stairs. It would be entirely devoid of blue, white, and red. Until matchday. The only blue and white in the ground would be players and supporters. The only red would be remembrance poppies. It would go from black to blue and white by filling it with us, but the actual seats and terracing would be black, with yellow rails.

It would also be cramped, closed, and noisy. The front rows would be very close to the touchlines, and reasonably close to the goal lines. It would be a cuboid box, not a bowl. It wouldn't be too similar to any other ground. It wouldn't bear the 'stadium' or 'park' suffix. Eastville Stadium. Twerton Park. Memorial Ground. I'd retain or resume the historic name above were we to remain in Horfield. Elsewhere, it'd need a new suffix.

Looking Goodddddddddddddddnowwwwwwwwww How much is it costing and why couldn't Rovers build this stand years ago? I suspect it costs somewhere in the region of 3 Scott Jones, 2 Justin Richards, 1 Tom Nicholls and a Santa's Grotto.

Looks fantastic and it might be open for fans Tuesday - Well done the new Gas hierarchy! Yes, agreed, it looks great, a vast improvement on what we had beforehand, increases the capacity, improved spectator experience, and will add to the atmosphere. I would be very surprised though to see it any of it open on Tuesday night. Although the seats are in, surely there is still work to complete on the concourse below? You could say as long as it's clear there are no issues. I think they would also have to have toilet facilities in place (there must be some stipulation on provision against crowd size), there would need to be segregation between home and away below the seats, and might have to build the food/refreshments outlets as well... and once that's done the Safety Certificate needs signing off (might even need test games to slowly build capacity). However, the South-West corner might well be ready.

Personally, rather than the South-West corner replacement, I would have looked to extend the West Stand Cricket Pavilion either side. So the same style hospitality boxes and seats and terracing below. All in the knowledge that one day (once the East and North are completed) it will be replaced with something giving a bigger capacity. Conversely, I wouldn't extend either side of the current East Stand (as mentioned by the new owner), I would knock it down and start again. Despite having a great view, the near sightline is not good, especially down to the corners. It's now 36 years since it was built and has served its time. Move back into the car-park; build up; better sightlines; increased capacity; two-tier with hospitality boxes between levels; you can configure underneath how you like to fit bars, restaurants, concourse, food outlets, offices, changing rooms, 'superstore' etc. ... Yes, I know, not cheap!

Has anything been said about the timeline for the East Stand revamp?
(I know we’ll all scoff when they tell us, but the new owners seem, so far, more reliable than many in the past so I will insist on remaining hopeful)
