This whole 'far right' labelling seems to have grown since Reform got 4 million votes, but even after Brexit leavers were called 'far right' or 'racist' or both. I do think society is so split now that these 'culture wars' are out of control, no doubt the internet is part of the problem but I dont see how this is going to end. As noted to Icegas the idea of far left to far right has been around since the French Revolution. The National Front, some of whose ideas such as being anti immigrants, have become seemingly more acceptable to people like the Reform Party Ltd and some members of the Tory Party, were considered and called far right in the 1970s so it is nothing new or to do with the number voting for the Reform Party Ltd. Interesting how some take offence at 'far right' but then bandy 'far left' or 'woke' and mean it as an insult. And I agree with your last sentence, since around 2015 a dissenting view is perceived by either side as something to rant about and throw insults or abuse their opponents. There is very little calm, knowledgeable debate to be had. I now fully expect to be called woke, leftie, far left, or to be told as a Remainer to 'f*** off, you lost, get over it' or called a 'Remoaner' by some when I try to engage over Brexit. And for a lot of people an opinion carries as much weight as a fact, even though that opinion may be from information on some dodgy website that is bat sh** crazy!! I would love a return to calm, sensible, debate or discussion, even if a little heated but with respect, especially over a pint, without people having a head fit. It works from both sides. The Reform Party are in favour of immigration Chesh.

Terry, us Brexiteer's have been called worse. People who post on these forums referred to us as 'racist', 'ignorant', 'stupid', 'little Englanders' all sorts of insults. This split between left and right really started after Brexit when the politicians in the HoC got involved. Even now people refer to Brexit as the 'Tory Brexit', when in reality the Tory party was for Remain. It was a national vote, outside of party lines, but the HoC messed everything up by making it into a party issue, when it never was. Three years of absolute nonsense in Parliament has created this division we are seeing. After 17.2 million people voted for Brexit the HoC should have worked together, but instead they turned it into yet another party tribal issue.

IMO it started cracking during the Scottish Independence Referendum in 2014, then the gloves came off during the Brexit debate. What followed was set in motion by the campaign itself.

Agreed Baldrick. Nobby is right in what's gone on,but Britain begain becoming divided once the Scottish referendum arguement spread to the rest of the Kingdom.Millions of Britons had an opinion. The Scottish referendum was really a bitter fight. Personally I'm happy the spiteful divisive and racist SNP are struggling so much these days. Long live the Union! 🇬🇧

The country seemed very split about the lockdowns,in fact the pandemic in general, funny you dont hear it mention it now but I think that the pandemic changed things for a lot of people.

Scottish Referendum. Brexit Referendum. Covid lock downs. That's a hell of a lot of disagreement.

I see all 6 potential new Tory leaders have distanced themselves from having anything to do with Nigel Farage.A different stance to the one Sunak took.
Anyway, sounds good.Clear water between Conservative and Reform makes it easier for voters to decide.

A new poll by We Think Polling, has our month and a half in power new Labour Government plummeting downwards.Very unpopular. Many are sick of them already.
Reform zooming upwards and above the Conservatives.
People know full well the riots were no fault of Farage and Reform.
A Reform Government would of seen boats turned around and taken/sent back by now. Illegals would be kept in secure units and stopped from disappearing into our cities, black economy and crime. Britons don't want them here.
Many Britons that voted for Labour or Conservative quite likely now wish they had voted Reform.
The Lefts blame game, pointing the finger at Farage was weak ,lazy and wrong.
Farage and Reform vindicated by the results on this latest poll.

I hope he gets paid more than Ed Balls! Talking of wages,Reform MP for Great Yarmouth Rupert Lowe, has started giving his net wages away to local good causes,as he said he would. The football club has been a benifitionary eg.A wonderful gesture from a man serious and sincere about his job.

Farage will no doubt do a better job than his Conservative predecessor Watling. He'll think outside the box and maybe COS will enjoy some American investment,$.
