It is one stat that simply proves that those people who profess to be muslim are overrepresented in English and welsh prisons compared to the population. In itself it proves nothing like any of the assumptions, generalisations and stereotypes you are making about muslims I really despise prejudice of any type because it is a short step from there to the horrendous persecution of minorities we have seen throughout history. I recently had the good fortune to meet probably the most inspirational person I’ve encountered in my life. A civil servant dedicated to improving work place culture for everyone no matter what colour of skin, faith or any other characteristic they might have. She suffers badly from PTSD as a result of having the s**t kicked out of her on the tube in London by 4 white males aged about 40 and then being slung bodily from the tube as it came into the platform. No-one on the tube did anything to help or intervene. Her crime? Wearing a hijab. She’d have good reason to fear or even hate white males after that but is insistent that this has only made her even more determined to challenge discrimination wherever she encounters it. I'm criticising the parts of Islam that mean SOME Muslims are struggling or refuse to get on in the UK. She sounds inspirational. [ Apparently Muslims are also high up on the unemployment table and there's alot of poverty. They go hand in hand. Why so much unemployment? Pretty sure the percent of unemployed UK Jews is very small.

Perhaps its due to the prejudice and ignorance of people who constantly attack Islam not employing them. I work with three lovely Muslim people who fit in quite nicely. Two of them are of Pakistani origin.

As for Braverman, she was right. Put the stats up and you'll see Muslim Pakistani men are over represented in grooming gang crime.Check their percentage of being found guilty,to their percentage of population. Over represented. Edit. Thought about it and if the people in the Guardian report were local politicians at the time of these Islam criticisms, then I condemn their terminology because people in their position ought to show more tact. Bas, you have said this previously and been proved wrong. The information was provided for you. You said you would go away and come up with the statistics. You have not provided facts or the links to them. Either do so, or withdraw the comment. You are simply spouting an opinion, not fact. Like the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Sun, and others you are just repeating headlines to shock with no substance. You may feel strongly and hold strong opinions. That does not make reality.

Islamophobia is embedded and rife within the UKIP Nasty party government and is positively encouraged by the RW media. Why do you think Sayeeda Warsi jumped ship to the Lib Dems, despite politically being quite RW herself?

The people or those who make judgement on them based on their ethnicity, family background, or religion without even trying to find anything out about them? Just believe the rhetoric and opinions of them with no fact.

You did'nt prove anything Chesh and I don't buy newspapers. What is the point of people posting links if you aren't going to read them or accept the facts of the Government. You are like the people who believe that opinion outweighs facts and you should not listen to data or experts. inews.co.uk/news/politics/ethnicity-grooming-gangs-evidence-suella-braverman-remarks-2250265 www.gov.uk/government/publications/group-based-child-sexual-exploitation-characteristics-of-offending/group-based-child-sexual-exploitation-characteristics-of-offending-accessible-versionThe report found that, while there had been several high-profile grooming and child sexual exploitation cases in Rotherham, Rochdale and Telford involving men of Pakistani ethnicity, “links between ethnicity and this form of offending” could not be proven.
“Research has found that group-based [child sexual exploitation] offenders are most commonly white,” it added. It claimed that there were “some studies suggest an over-representation of black and Asian offenders relative to the demographics of national populations”, but it was not possible “to conclude that this is representative of all group-based child sexual exploitation offending”.
