Paedophile head may have abused over four decades..by Elen Wyn and Sian Vivian, BBC Wales Investigates
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/02/11/86824873-13591195-image-a-12_1719915294940.jpg Neil Foden, 66, has been jailed for 17 years at Mold Crown Court after being found guilty of 19 sexual abuse offences involving four girlsA paedophile head teacher may have abused pupils for more than 40 years, with four times as many victims than previously thought. Neil Foden was jailed for 17 years for sexually abusing four children in north Wales between 2019 and 2023. But a BBC Wales investigation has heard allegations going back to 1979, and from two women who say police told them there were up to 20 potential victims. Serious concerns have been raised about a review designed to "learn lessons" from Foden's case, despite local authority Cyngor Gwynedd vowing a panel overseeing this will be "given all the information it needs". One former pupil, Jo - not her real name- said Foden continued to message her until the day he was arrested. She said she was groomed by her head teacher for five years, starting when she would meet with him on a daily basis in his office while a pupil at Ysgol Friars in Gwynedd, north Wales. Foden would also message her from his personal email account and mobile phone. "There’s roughly 400, 500 [messages] on his personal email to my personal email account," she said. "It was back and forth every day, in school, out of school, morning, night, any time. "He made me feel like I was special.” i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/02/10/50392815-13591195-Foden_had_a_reputation_for_strictly_upholding_the_rules_making_h-a-11_1719913775779.jpgJo was in the care system, known to be a vulnerable child, and said she was targeted by Foden. "My mental health was at its lowest, I was self-harming... having panic attacks daily. I didn't have anyone around me, any support system," she said. "He'd give me hugs and I didn't always want them so I'd pull back, then he'd pull me in stronger... just without reason, his hands would go under my jumper. "He often checked my arms and my legs to see if I'd self-harmed. I often wore a skirt, so he'd lift the skirt up to have a look." Jo said other teachers and staff would see her getting into Foden's car alone. She added: "They'd make comments on how lucky I was to have him drive me home, or to drive me to appointments. "He'd place his hand on my thigh... there was so many things that shouldn't have happened.” Jo was made aware of the extent of Foden's abuse after his arrest at his school in September 2023. "The police came to me... they said that there were over 20 other people who were in similar situations as myself," she said. During Foden’s trial, it emerged that concerns about his closeness to certain teenage girls had been raised in 2019. The concern was passed to Cyngor Gwynedd, but it was decided there would be no formal investigation as no specific allegations had been made. The local authority, Cyngor Gwynedd, said an independent review would "identify what lessons are to be learned" to prevent similar cases in the future. While Foden was abusing girls in 2019, Cyngor Gwynedd's attention was focused on bullying allegations made against him by staff. BBC Wales Investigates has seen a copy of a confidential report which raised concerns about his behaviour, warning that action should be taken. Foden was then reprimanded by the teaching regulator and kicked out of his union in 2020. Yet, a year later, in 2021, he was given more responsibility as a "strategic super-head" overseeing two different schools in north Wales.

White, British...Black, Muslim, Christian, jew, gashead, s**thead, male, female or Trans.. Gay, straight, come here on a dingy.. or born here - they are all the same... Sick f**ks! All perverts... Can't they get laid without acting like this? What's wrong with them? I've said this before, and got called all the names under the sun for it. Oh well.. But these "things"...and sadly we need to call them people, don't respect any human life due to their actions. They raped, attacked, or have manipulated someone for their sexual needs... I say this again, these people have no other purpose on this planet, but to be used for science experiments. Their human rights are defaulted by the evil that they did. I will always save the innocent Rat, or rabbit over these vermin. And save me the link to Chinese experiment from years ago...

Ex-Fulham Ladies captain Ronnie Gibbons' groped' by Mohamed Al Fayed..by By Laura Scott, BBC Sports News Correspondenti2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33920276.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/1_LD-split.jpgFormer Fulham Ladies captain Ronnie Gibbons alleges she was "groped" on two occasions by the football club's late owner Mohamed Al Fayed. The former Harrods boss tried to “forcefully” kiss her at his department store in 2000, when she was 20, she told The Athletic website., external "Speaking my truth and finally telling my story will hopefully help me heal and be rid of the shame, embarrassment and pain I have carried for years," she said. Lawyers from the Justice for Harrods Survivors group said they were representing four former players of the club. Fulham FC told the BBC it was trying to establish whether anyone at the club "had been impacted" by Al Fayed. "The club is profoundly troubled to learn of the experiences told today by former Women’s Team captain, Ronnie Gibbons," Fulham said. "She has our deepest empathy and support." Al Fayed owned Fulham between 1997 and 2013. In 2000, Fulham’s women's team - known at the time as Fulham Ladies - became the first female football team in Europe to turn professional. Gibbons, who was captain at the time, said she was driven to Harrods by club staff. Once at the luxury department store, she said she was left alone with Al Fayed, who was then in his 70s. "He pulled me in close and tried to kiss me on the mouth," she said of their first meeting. "He had his arms holding my arms, like at my side, so I couldn’t push him away or anything like that. It was a real kind of control stance, like ‘I’m dominating you’. "I was just like, ‘What do I do here?’ I just felt like a huge responsibility on my shoulders at that point because we’d just turned professional." Gibbons said that Al Fayed tried to forcefully kiss her again: "He even may have stuck his tongue on me or something. I just remember feeling sick, just really physically feeling sick, when I left there." static01.nyt.com/athletic/uploads/wp/2024/10/17171745/Downpage-Ronnie1-scaled.jpgLater that summer, she said a member of staff told her she had been summoned to Harrods again by Al Fayed. In the interview with The Athletic, she recalled: "This time he groped me. As he was saying goodbye, he was sort of grabbing me, trying to sort of hold on to me and kiss me. He was like, 'You’re not scared are you? You don’t need to be scared, I’m not going to do anything like that, you’re very precious, you’re a very special girl'." Fulham FC told the BBC: "We unequivocally condemn all forms of abuse. We remain in the process of establishing whether anyone at the Club is or would have been impacted by Mohamed Al Fayed in any manner as described in recent reports." Last week, the Metropolitan Police said it had received 40 new allegations from people that included sexual assault and rape against Al Fayed. The allegations follow a BBC documentary and podcast, containing testimony from former Harrods employees who said the billionaire sexually assaulted or raped them. Since the documentary first aired in September, a further 65 women have contacted the BBC saying they were abused by Al Fayed, with allegations stretching beyond Harrods and as far back as 1977. img.huffingtonpost.es/files/image_630_420/files/fp/uploads/2024/10/18/ronnie-gibbons-en-una-imagen-de-archivo.r_d.328-244-10330.jpegLast month, the former manager of Fulham's women's team Gaute Haugenes told the BBC that extra precautions had been put in place to protect female players from Al Fayed. Haugenes, who managed the team from 2001 to 2003, said members of staff became aware that the late billionaire "liked young, blonde girls". Gibbons was reported to be angered by these comments. Speaking to the BBC on Friday, Haugenes, who is Norwegian, said he could completely understand her frustration. "All I can say is I am really sorry for saying something that could have put more wood on the fire. I honestly thought we protected the players," he said. "I knew that he liked Ronnie because all the girls, they joked about it. But I thought he was an old man, she was a young woman. I was 30 at the time, I didn’t think people his age were thinking about sex. "I might have been naive, it might have been some of the language barriers that I didn’t pick up details in their joking." He added that he had not been aware she had been told to go to Harrods. Asked whether club staff could have done more, he said it was difficult to know what could have been done differently. "But you should have had a system that picked up things like that," he said. "It was before I was a manager that she went there." He added: “It is sad to hear she had those kind of experiences as a professional player." The Justice for Harrods Survivors group said the abuse Gibbons had endured from Al Fayed was "yet another horrible example of the monstrous abuse aided and abetted by the businesses he owned". They added: "We salute our client’s bravery and are proud to advocate for Ronnie and others at Fulham who are searching for justice. We will do whatever we can to lift the lid on abuse, no matter where it was perpetrated, or who it was perpetrated by, including any enablers of Al-Fayed's abhorrent behaviour." A spokesperson for Harrods said it was "utterly appalled" by the allegations of abuse perpetrated by Al Fayed. It said: “These were the actions of an individual who was intent on abusing his power wherever he operated and we condemn them in the strongest terms. "We also acknowledge that during this time his victims were failed and for this we sincerely apologise."

FBI giving update after former Abercrombie CEO arrested on sex trafficking charges..by Dulcie Lee and Johanna Chisholmichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/1024/cpsprodpb/9f96/live/150b1540-9086-11ef-b3c2-754b6219680e.jpgThe BBC initially spoke to 12 men who described attending or organising events involving sex acts run for Mike Jeffries, 79, and his British partner Matthew Smith, 60, between 2009 and 2015. Eight of those men who attended the events said they were recruited by a middleman who the BBC identified as James Jacobson. Jacobson, 70, previously told the BBC in a statement through his lawyer that he took offence at the suggestion of "any coercive, deceptive or forceful behaviour on my part" and had "no knowledge of any such conduct by others". The BBC also interviewed dozens of other sources, including former household staff. Some of the men the BBC spoke to said they were misled about the nature of the events or not told sex was involved. Others said they understood the events would be sexual, but not exactly what was expected of them. All were paid. Several told the BBC the middleman or other recruiters raised the possibility of modelling opportunities with A&F. In the year since the investigation was published, eight more men have spoken to the BBC. The FBI also launched an investigation following the BBC’s reporting, and 20 men in total have now told us they attended or helped organise these events. The alleged enterprise lasted until at least from the end of 2008 until early 2015, US Attorney Breon Peace says. Jeffries and Smith spent millions of dollars on a massive infrastructure to support this operation and maintain its secrecy, he says, including supporting staff and paying for travel, hotel rooms and services from a security company.

Bianca Gascoigne accuses Al Fayed of sexual assault..by Vicky Wong, BBC News
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/22/11/91139683-13986023-image-m-3_1729592986271.jpg Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne pictured with his daughter and model BiancaBianca Gascoigne has alleged that she was groomed and sexually assaulted by former Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed when she worked at the department store as a teenager. The TV personality, who is the daughter of ex-England footballer Paul Gascoigne, was 16 years old at the time, and said Al Fayed would grope her and force her to kiss him. She told Sky News, external that she did not speak out sooner because she did not want to bring "embarrassment and shame". Gascoigne's comments come after Harrods confirmed to the BBC on Monday that more than 250 people were now in its process to settle compensation claims brought by women who allege historical sexual misconduct again Al Fayed. The 37-year-old reality TV star and DJ told the broadcaster she used to visit the luxury department store with her parents when she was growing up, and described Fayed as "charming" and "personable", saying he used to bring the family gifts. "He used to tell me how much of a bad father my dad was, because he used to come into the store drunk," she said. "He used to tell me that he was an embarrassment, that I should look to him as a father figure." She added she felt a "false sense of security with him early doors". Gascoigne joined Harrods as a shop floor worker but was later promoted to her "dream " job of becoming a fashion buyer. But she said Al Fayed would grope her and force her to kiss him during their weekly meetings. i2-prod.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/showbiz-news/article30202174.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_Bianca-Gascoigne-said-she-was-the-victim-of-a-horrific-sexual-assault-Lucy-NorthPA.jpgOn one occasion, Gascoigne was offered the opportunity to stay in the Harrods Park Lane apartment before an early morning work flight. But when Al Fayed turned up at the apartment, she said she was "gobsmacked", "shell-shocked" and did not know what to do. "He came in, and then he sat me down on the sofa and was obviously very forceful with the touching and the kissing," she said. "He got his privates out and got my hand and was trying to manoeuvre it on his parts, and when that didn't work, he was trying to force my head on his lap." She said she managed to "wiggle away" and the encounter was "horrific". She thinks Al Fayed knowing who her parents were was what saved her in the moment. "He was doing all these things to me and I was close to people that he knew, and I felt like I couldn't even tell them either because I didn't want to bring embarrassment and shame," she said, adding that not even her mum and dad knew what was going on. Gascoigne said she was also scared of losing her job, and that Al Fayed had warned her that she would if she said anything. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/15/09/80742761-13960833-Bianca_Gascoigne_37_has_discussed_her_struggle_with_antenatal_de-a-55_1728980885055.jpgGascoigne, who gave birth to a daughter last year, said she was compelled to talk about her experience after several victims went public with their stories of abuse at the hands of Al Fayed. "I feel like I have to do this, I want to do this, and I want to stand for the women and just hopefully make any kind of change (so) that in the future, my daughter wouldn't have to go through something like this," she said. Lawyers from the Justice for Harrods Survivors group, who represent the accusers of the former Harrods boss, have praised Gascoigne for her bravery, adding they are "proud to represent her and our other survivors as we move forward together in our quest for justice". The BBC has approached Gascoigne for further comment. Al Fayed, who died last year aged 94, is accused of sexual misconduct by several women who worked for him - many of whom felt unable to report what had happened until recently. At the time of many of the alleged attacks, the billionaire businessman was the owner of Harrods, the Ritz Paris hotel and football club Fulham FC. The BBC heard testimony from more than 20 female ex-employees at Harrods during its investigation for the documentary and podcast - Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods. The documentary, which aired last month, claimed that during Fayed's ownership, Harrods not only failed to intervene but helped cover up abuse allegations. Responding to the investigation, Harrods' current owners said they were “utterly appalled” by the allegations and that his victims had been failed - for which the store sincerely apologised.

'Very dangerous' Bristol pervert jailed for 24 years after targeting dozens of children..By Molly Seaman
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9672233.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_2831.jpg Andrew Thorne, 51 from Bristol, jailed for 24 years after ‘repeatedly targeting children’A dangerous paedophile from Bristol has been jailed for 24 years for extensive child abuse offences. Andrew Thorne was found guilty after pleading guilty to 18 offences, including sexual communications with a minor, creating and distributing indecent images of a child, and coercing a child into participating in sexual activities. A judge described Thorne's offenses as being unlike any case the court had seen before. On Friday, October 25, Bristol Crown Court was told that Thorne first came to the attention of police due to concerns over his online activity, where he was found accessing child sexual abuse material. Thorne was arrested by Avon and Somerset's Internet Child Abuse Team (ICAT) on August 10, 2023, on suspicion of producing indecent images of children. Following his arrest and interviews a number of Thorne's electronic devices were seized and examined. This investigation revealed the extent and scale of Thorne's offences. Using an alias, Thorne utilised online platforms to message and communicate with children, instructing victims aged between six and 16 to perform sexual acts on camera. Through investigations, officers identified a total of 182 individual victims. The investigation also uncovered that Thorne had downloaded hundreds of images, some depicting the sexual abuse of infants as young as 18 months. Thorne also filmed himself stalking and upskirting women and children in public places, with over 200 instances recorded between August 2022 and August 2023, spanning the UK and Europe. Thorne was handed a 24-year prison sentence, with a requirement to serve at least 18 years before being considered for parole. Should he be granted parole, the remainder of his sentence will be served on licence, and a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order has been imposed. The presiding Judge, during sentencing, remarked that the court "had not seen a case like this" and the "sheer number of victims was more than the court had ever seen". Investigating officer in the case Lucy Hartill, said: “Thorne is a very dangerous individual who has repeatedly targeted children, the most vulnerable in society, both online and offline. “He has directed children to engage in harmful sexual behaviour which will undoubtedly have a profound effect on them for the rest of their lives, all for his own selfish desires. “This has been a difficult and complex investigation, but the sentence demonstrates how seriously we take these matters and our enduring work to bring offenders such as this to justice.” IT MAKES ONE'S BLOOD BOIL...

Justin Welby faces pressure to resign over Church abuse scandal..by Maia Davies, BBC News

Anglican priest Giles Fraser told the BBC the Most Rev Justin Welby had "lost the confidence of his clergy" and his position was untenable. Three members of the Church’s parliament - the General Synod - have started a petition calling for Mr Welby to resign over his "failures" to report John Smyth QC's "abhorrent" abuse of boys and young men at Christian summer camps. A review of the Church’s handling of Smyth’s case said Mr Welby "could and should" have reported the case to authorities when details were presented to him in 2013. Mr Welby acknowledged he should have more rigorously followed up the details and said last week he had considered resigning, but decided to stay in his role. The Makin review, external into Smyth's case said he might have been brought to justice for decades of abuse before his death in 2018 had he been formally reported to authorities a decade ago. Smyth is believed to be the most prolific serial abuser to be associated with the Church of England, having subjected as many as 130 victims to traumatic physical, sexual, psychological and spiritual attacks. One of his victims, Bishop of Guildford Andrew Watson, previously described the "excruciating and shocking" abuse he experienced. Smyth died aged 75 while under investigation by Hampshire Police. The review also noted that some Church leaders had been made aware of the abuse in 1982. In a statement, Mr Welby said he was "deeply sorry that this abuse happened" and "sorry that concealment by many people who were fully aware of the abuse over many years meant that John Smyth was able to abuse overseas and died before he ever faced justice". He added: "I had no idea or suspicion of this abuse before 2013." The petition calling for Mr Welby's resignation was created on Saturday by three of the General Synod's almost 500 members, and is open to anyone to sign online. By Monday morning it had gathered over 1,500 signatures. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/11/10/22/91915053-14065981-image-a-4_1731276199064.jpg John Smyth QC is believed to be the most prolific serial abuser to be associated with the Church of England"Given his role in allowing abuse to continue, we believe that his continuing as the Archbishop of Canterbury is no longer tenable," the petition reads. "We must see change, for the sake of survivors, for the protection of the vulnerable, and for the good of the Church." Mr Fraser, vicar of St Anne’s Church at Kew, west London, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme Mr Welby "really [had] to go". Recalling his own experience of abuse at school, Mr Fraser said such an experience was "very traumatic and stays with you". "This happened to me when I was seven, eight – I'm 60 in a few weeks’ time," he said. "The idea that people continued to be abused after the Church knew what was happening is disgraceful." At the weekend, the Church's lead safeguarding bishop said she welcomed Mr Welby’s apology - and would not say whether he should resign. "I really appreciate that the Archbishop has wholeheartedly apologised for what he could have and should have done differently in 2013," the Rt Rev Joanne Grenfell, the Bishop of Stepney, told the BBC. "I also recognise his commitment over the time of his tenure as Archbishop to really having tried to change safeguarding." Mr Welby said he hoped the Makin review would support the ongoing work of building a safer church here and around the world, and reiterated his "horror at the scale of John Smyth's egregious abuse, as reflected in his public apology".

C of E appears a wreck.

Al Fayed's brother Salah also abused us, women say..by Olivia Davies, Jo Adnitt and Hannah Price, BBC News Investigations
editorial01.shutterstock.com/preview-440/9789473f/49bc3740/Shutterstock_9789473f.jpg Salah Fayed is 2nd leftOne of Mohamed Al Fayed's brothers also abused women who worked at the Harrods department store, according to three ex-employees who have made allegations including sexual assault and trafficking to the BBC. The women allege that Salah Fayed abused them in London, the south of France and Monaco between 1989 and 1997. One woman believes she was raped by Salah after she was drugged. All three women say they were also sexually assaulted or raped by Mohamed Al Fayed, then chairman of the company. Harrods, which came under new ownership in 2010, said in a statement that the new claims point to the "breadth of abuse" by Al Fayed and "raise serious allegations" against his brother. Salah Fayed, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2010, was one of three Fayed brothers who purchased the luxury Knightsbridge department store in 1985. Mohamed added the Arabic "Al" prefix to his surname some time in the 1970s. One of the three women, Helen, has waived her right to anonymity. She was 23 and had been working at her "dream" job in Harrods for almost two years when Mohamed Al Fayed raped her in a Dubai hotel room. Months later, when Mohamed offered her some personal assistant work with his younger brother, she saw it as an escape route - but instead she says she was drugged by Salah and believes she was then raped by him while unconscious. "He [Mohamed Al Fayed] shared me with his brother," she says. Helen is speaking for the first time, after feeling silenced for 35 years, in part because of a Harrods non-disclosure agreement that she was told to sign. "They've stolen a part of me," she says. "It's changed the course of my entire life."
