Was happy with the performance until the equaliser, then the heads dropped again. I think many players get too nervous. I don't think one of our forwards is capable of scoring more than ten goals (with the team only getting 3 in 5 so far) and that's why we wont finish higher than mid table. Also when you have a manager saying live on TV that we are the underdogs what hope do we have with a mentality like that?

Well, after that debacle at Barnet that was a different level. I will take that, my despondancy has been transformed to mild optimism.

We could have won that, if we had a player like Jon Parkin, there was pretty much nothing upfront after they scored.
Trotman MOTM for me, looks better than MM and TP, Harrison done okay running but loses the plot with the ball at his feet unfortunately.

Harrison looks our best player. He's certainly good for winning a few free kicks and running fast if that's what you mean. Haldane-esque.

Yes, would have taken a draw before the game but after the been better side for so long, it's a disappointing result. Still, I think the Gas are improving!

Fair enough result neither did enough to win. Harrison made a difference as Cunnington was shocking. Trotman MOM for me.

On 1 leg Haldane is better than any attacker we have on our books

Think we would have lost that game a few weeks ago. Halifax game will be a real test.

If we evaluate August then, have we made progress? The answer after that performance has to be yes. History is now consigned, it starts here.

Exactly, running fast past a defender doesn't make you the best player. IMO the player who has the best impact on the game is the the best player, Lockyer was said player.

More Quality needed mid-field and no real threat up front. One or two simply not good enough but happy with the commitment and the point.Ellis should start next game.Trotman immense.

Looking forward to signing Tonton Zola Moukouko next week Yep - maybe Mihalis Konstantinou and a whole phalanx of Scandiweigian types. That's how you guaranteed success there. I'm not actually convinced it does work that well for FGR though - think they could use their money a bit more wisely really. Pretty happy with a point to be honest and the performance from us was decent in the main. Shame we couldn't nick the points as that would be good for momentum. But that's the first time I've seen us play a full 90 mins this season and I thought we were reasonable. I was particularly impressed with how well we battled in the middle of the park. I thought Mansell and Clarke generally got the better of FGR and meant we were seeing more of the ball than you'd expected to see away. Liked what I saw of Trotman too - he seems like a proper scrapper. The rest were a bit in and out for me. Not convinced by any single forward player but conditions were atrocious so maybe that's understandable. Monkhouse took his goal well but was anonymous at times, Taylor doesn't seem to have much to contribute on the ball, I thought Coddington looked OK at holding the ball up (and actually he twice laid it off beautifully to our midfields who miscontrolled it) but he looked lacking match sharpness (maybe that's why he went off). More composure needed at the back. It wasn't just on the goal that we panicked in dealing with fairly simple crosses. On the other hand I thought in general we kept a good defensive shape and they really struggled to impose themselves for any sustained period of time. The only bit of real quality in the whole game though was the 2 passes to link to Parkin who should have scored. So I think we should be pleased with 1-1 and 4 points for the weekend.

Harrison has to start instead of the useless donkey.

Didn`t see the fear that Clarke was talking about after the Altrincham game so thats a good sign.
Thought we played quite well and unlucky not to get the win.

Harrison looks our best player. Thought Lockyer was our best player I thought Harrison was our best player. Changed the game and has to start. I thought it was a game we deserved to win but creating goals and chances is going to be a BIG problem. We are always prone to a blunder while being defensively competent, if not outstanding. Taylor is complete sh*t. Overall, vastly improved performance. It wasn't totally shameful or completely inept which is something, so I will just take the positives where I can. If only because I'm fed up of being so deflated and angry. I'll take anything.

Neal Trotman was superb, can't remember the last time I've seen a centre half dominate the aerial battles as much as he did. FGR manager just said that he was immense and i thought him and Parkes look a good partnership. Gutted we didn't get 3 points today, were the better team and that performance shows that people need to be sensible and give this team time to grow.

Parkes is not good enough.
