We have played the Owls only 13 times between 1905 and our last game in 2011, W2, D4, L7, Biggest win 4-2, Loss 6-2 and there was a 3-3 draw.
Sheffield Wednesday were founded in 1867, they play their home games at Hillsborough Stadium which has a capacity of 39,732.
Manager Darren Moore is 48 and has played in 700 games for Torquay, Doncaster, Bradford, Portsmouth, WBA, Derby, Barnsley & Burton.
Although no contemporary evidence has been found to support the claim, it is commonly believed that "The Wednesday Cricket Club" was formed in 1820. Nevertheless, an 1842 article in Bell's Life magazine states the club was founded as far back as 1816.
The club was so named because it was on Wednesdays that the founding members had a half-day off work. They were initially based at the New Ground in Darnall, and often went by the name of Darnall Wednesday, but also played at Hyde Park.
In 1855 they were one of six clubs that helped build Bramall Lane, and held a wicket there for many years.
In their early years, the club was nicknamed The Blades, a term used for any sporting team from the city of Sheffield, famous the world over for its cutlery and knives.
That nickname has been retained by Wednesday's crosstown rivals, Sheffield United.
Although it is widely assumed that the club's nickname changed to The Owls in 1899 after the club's move to Owlerton, it was not until 1912, when Wednesday player George Robertson presented the club with an owl mascot, that the name took hold.
Famous ex-managers have been Jack Charlton, Howard Wilkinson and Trevor Francis.
We took a point from the leaders last weekend, so there are no reasons against a likewise result tonight.

Thoroughly looking forward to this game.
I hope all are well rested and fully appreciate Saturdays performance (infact Octobers perk up), has gone.Just because we've been playing very well so far this month, well 'it does'nt mean a thing,if we ain't got that swing' come ko whistle.
Having said that,we're capable of giving Wednesday a game.
No telly at my place,so undecided where to watch, but radio is fine anyway.
Come on Rovers!

Really looking forward to this.
My clearest memory of my one trip to Hillsborough is Trevor Francis. He picked the ball up from a throw in on the side of the pitch at the half way line and then ran with the ball along the half way line to the opposite sideline. The rovers players defenders were all over the shop. Super intelligent player.
I think we lost 3 1 and there was some disgusting chanting in our end.

Recently made the decision to rid the house of TV’s. Has made a huge impact as we have begun to converse and read much more. Best decision i have made in many years. Savings are huge when not paying around 1.4K pa for sky alone. Also noticed the smart meter has been showing a huge amount less of electricity used. It was a joint decision as we both saw so many repeats and how we would be so ignorant when watching the box. Good for you fella

I just hope that we can give a good account of ourselves and make a fist of it as we have tended to struggle somewhat in the past against good opposition when the cameras are rolling.

Yes I hope we are competitive and no reason why we shouldn’t be. Better form players back, a goal either way will be ok, in our favour I’d be ecstatic

Good to hear what JB said on the radio concerning Hillsborough, a few scouse players paying their respects.
He said he was possitive that the country could see what a decent outfit we are as it is live on sky.
Shame Loft had to go off after only half an hour, thought it could be a game changer, but at the moment, not so 1-1, 9 to go.
Coburn off and Sinclair on, 81 mins played, Owls fan stretchered off and into an ambulance.

Rovers played very well. Belshaw, Coburn, Evans stood out as did the defence. our formation and press worked very well. Sinclair will be here a while surely looking fit and threatening as he did

A really excellent performance and we were well worthy of the point. We had a couple of good chances to nick it at tge end though point each on balance of chances was fair. Shame we switched off just before half time but whole defence performed really well. Coburn was a menace throughout, Finley excellent and thought Anderson really put in a shift. Impressive old ground and gasheads there made lots of noise
