Is it just me or he is a shadow of the player he used to be? He was poor today and wanders about aimlessly? The beast Jon Parkin and Lee Hughes will have a field day Monday!!

He's spent 18 month playing next to McChrystal. That's what the problem is.

I used the same words to somebody earlier. When he joined us, I thought he was destined to the premier league - composed, strong in the air, spot on positioning, and could marshall a defence, all at 19. Seems devoid of any confidence now.

I actually thought from a defensive display he did pretty well, there were several excellent defensive headers he got away when we were under pressure. His passing out from the back wasn't the best but I think he did all he needed to.

I personally thought he defended well today, but his distribution was awful. He is a confidence player which makes DC's decision to drop him following a good performance against Grimsby all the more baffling. Hopefully 2 clean sheets on the trot at home will give him some confidence.

SuperSteve73 Did you go to Barnet/Altringham? I think not because if you did you certainly wouldn't be saying that Mark McCrystal was a better defender. As regards his dropping after a good performance against Grimsby IMO this is a big part of his lack of form. Very poor man management IMO.

He's a professional footballer surely dropping him for one game isn't going to shatter his confidence? If it did then perhaps he's in the wrong occupation!
Having said that Parkes had 2 or 3 goal saving blocks/tackles today so perhaps he preferred playing alongside Trotman, it's just a pity it's FGR up next

Barring his quality last ditch challenges/blocks he was woeful again.
Needs to pull his finger out and sheepish.

HIS CONFIDENCE IS GONE AND He has become THE NEW BYRON ANTHONY ...one major mistake in him per game...feel sure Clarke has put him under pressure and it shows in his play. If McCHRYSTAL is fit pair him with the new central defender Trotman who I felt did very well.

What has happened to Tom Parkes? What has happened to Tom Lockyer? What has happened to Ryan Brunt?

What has happened to Tom Parkes? What has happened to Tom Lockyer? What has happened to Ryan Brunt? Parkes - Good as a defender - never has been able to pass out of defence so needs to pass sideways to someone who can Lockyer - being played out of position Brunt - not yet match fit

What has happened to Tom Parkes? What has happened to Tom Lockyer? What has happened to Ryan Brunt? Parkes better option than McChrystal at present, likewise Lockyer preferred to Leadbitter, Brunt either not fully fit yet or leaving.

Playing the `billy big bollocks` by any chance? and getting found out? playing for a move? If getting a rollocking for trying be `pele` on the edge of your own box is upsetting his game then it says more about Parkes than Darrel clarke.
