Hopefully Ryan will finally accept he needs to retire from professional football and find a new career that will be kinder on his body. He's seem to have completely lost faith in his ability as a footballer and you can't blame him after 2 terrible injurys.

Football insider = bloke down the pub No, his Dad Bloody hell Kev. That is a shock. I hope it had nothing to do with his awful treatment after the Altrincham game. He was looking very good in his first season here and ran his heart out. He covered so much ground in a vain attempt to get a chance. I will be saddened as he is a great guy to talk to, is highly motivated ( talks the talk anyway) went for rehab to the states on his own dollar. If it is down to persistent reoccurrence of the injury then it must be a sickening experience but, from what he said the last time I had a brief chat, he said he felt good and confident he would get back to full strength. Gutted to hear this

A tip last night from football insider, Brunt will be going, paid up. If this post is correct, then surely BRFC would be protecting their interests by claiming on the players insurance, which I'm quite certain that they hold. Should it have been decided that it was in the interests of both the player and the club that his career is at an end, then by claiming on the insurance policy the player would receive a pay-off, as well as the club. I can't believe that a player with a serious injury would just be paid up.

It all sounds a bit dodge

Paid up? He was alright against Grimsby. If his wages are too high, loan him out.

Sad for the lad if it is true and maybe he needs to find himself away from the pressure of playing for Rovers. I cant believe that he will have a full insurance pay off as the premiums are incredibly expensive and the scheme was onlyu open to Football League clubs - so he may well be paying for our demotion in a way that wasn't expected

I suspected this may be the case as someone I know saw him leave the ground before kick off today. If true I'm gutted for Ryan as he's a very nice guy and wanted nothing more than to play football, so to see him seemingly having to give up the game is terrible.
I wonder where this will leave us in regards to bringing in other players? If we're paying him off will the club want to use the wages he would have been on to sign another player or two?
We need to sign at least another forward to replace Brunt but finances may not allow us to do so.

Gutted for him if true. A top young lad who has done everything possible to get back into the game. Being a footballer is a really short career though and you can't blame him if he wants to pursue other options.

Of course it is bad for him but I am only interested in Rovers he is no use never being fit. Time for him to go.

Brunt left the ground to pick up his misses from the gates before returning, he then left the ground shortly left the match, still wearing his Rovers track suit top. If it's true he's leaving it's a pretty sad ending to his football career.

I hope he gets back to his form pre major injuries because that Brunt would be one hell of a player in this league
Maybe the 3 month loan of the new big bloke is to give Brunt time to get fully fit ??
