The opportunity to continue bedding down this team at MK Don's has gone.Regardless of what the result would of been,I think that game could of worked as a decent warm up for this Ipswich away game.
It was always going to be a tough nut to crack, now it's tougher.
I suppose by time we do play at MK Dons, our team/squad will know what's what,so swings and roundabouts it is.
The Tractor Boys have ploughed their way to the top of the field..Steve "please stand up" Cotterill post Shrews Ipswich said 'they out classed us'.
I think this game will see us learn abit more about "where we are",with some improvements made.
Enough to get a result?
Come on Rovers!

We have played Ipswich Town 42 times, with 16 wins, 9 draws and 17 defeats - We have won 5-1, lost 6-1 twice and there have been 2 x 3-3 draws.
Ipswich Town, known as the Tractor Boys & the Blues, were founded in 1878 and play at Portman Road which has a capacity of 30,311.
Manager Kieran McKenna is 36, played for Enniskillen Town, Ballinamallard United, Tottenham Hotspur & Northern Ireland at U19 & U 21 levels.
They had some good managers like Bobby Robson, Alf Ramsey, George Burley, Scott Duncan and Mick McCarthy to name just a few.
They have won the 1st division in 1961-62, 2nd div 3 times, 3rd div 2 times, UEFA Cup in 1980-81 & FA Cup in 1977-78.
The club's main rivals are Norwich City. When the two teams meet it is known as the 'East Anglian derby'.
Their greatest players of note were Mick Mills, Paul Cooper, Paul Mariner, John Wark, Eric Gates, Mick Stockwell and many many more.
It will be hellish tough tonight, but the boys can bring home a well earned point, come on you Rovers.

Marcus Stewart is of course a legend at both Rovers and Ipswich.
Maybe Marcus will get a cheer/chant tonight.
God Save The King will be played pre ko.

I think it'll be a good barometer to gauge where we should be if we want to challenge for the top places, and sustain it.
A tough match, maybe the toughest of the season, we'll see how our boys stand and fight this one.
Safe journey all travelling, but all I see is a dominant home win....I hope I'm wrong.

Agreed with most of that 0202b02ba. I think we already know we are not firing on all cylinders yet,due to not yet having enough games to bed in the new players. I think this game has arrived a month earlier than we would of liked, that's not an excuse, it's just the luck of the fixture dates and Joe's style and in signing players in the "dieing embersof the transfer window".Joe and plenty of other managers. The MK Dons game would of helped in the bedding down. We'll give MK Dons a good game in the rearranged fixture. Very tough game, but JB will have a plan.I assume Ipswich knock the ball about, this might suit us. Yes,tonights game will show us "where we are",but I feel relatively confident we will be better come October-ish.

Our defence is just awlful and the defensive element of our midfield isn't functioning.
On the positive side Ipswich will hopefully ease up and we are better than we were at Barnsley.

notice there is a Luke Woolfenden in the Ipswich side, wonder if his father is former Speedway rider Lee [former world champion]

For those on ifollow, I suggest switching to radio Ipswich, excellent technical analysis. There showing a lot of sympathy for Finley who they think has been given two jobs with no support.

Lee Evans makes it 2 0. No joke. The 'other' Lee Evan's is originally from Bristol. Not sure if he's s**t or Gas.

FFS...to lose one centre back to an entirely avoidable red card decision in advance of a game against fellow L1 strugglers is unfortunate, but to lose two is careless...

Soundly beaten,as most of us suspected would happen.
We'll be more like it in a month or so,or around the dozen game mark.
